Disputed Anchor List

edit

I have removed the Anchor List, per the essay WP:ANCHORS. WP:ANCHORS states, in a nutshell: "Wikipedia is not a directory, and articles on shopping centers should generally not contain tenant lists or unsourced anchor lists." and "Do not put the anchor stores in a list format." The anchor list is alredy included in the article in prose. Another user, DWalk99, feels it should be included for this reason:

"I'm just not sure why it's a big deal if the anchors and square footage are included, when most Wikipedia articles about mall include such information. I understand that WP:ANCHORS states it shouldn't be, but there are people out there that find that information interesting. What is hurting to have it included?"

Wikipedia discurages against lists such as an Anchor list, which can be written in paragraph form, as it is in this article currently. David (talk) 18:14, 1 January 2012 (UTC)Reply

Agree with Daveplot. The anchor list is sourced with a map that does not identify sources, and there is an unsourced list of "notable" tenants (whatever that means). The listings for the nearby malls are no better. It is not up to Wikipedia editors to be making their own personal determinations of what stores in this mall function as anchor stores or "notable" stores. These store lists are a violation of WP:V and WP:OR, and should either be improved (fairly soon, this issue was identified 9+ months ago) or deleted. --Skeezix1000 (talk) 17:41, 2 October 2012 (UTC)Reply

Centre at Salisbury Store Count

edit

According to multiple sources- their official Facebook page, Twitter page, and market profile, the Centre at Salisbury advertises as having over 100 stores/restaurants. According to the market profile page, restaurants surrounding the mall such as Red Lobster, Famous Dave's, etc. are included in the store count (even though they do not show on the lease plan). Shouldn't the store count be updated to reflect what the mall advertises as having- over 100? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Jhuntley72 (talkcontribs) 17:22, 31 October 2013 (UTC)Reply

Hello. The referenced item for the store count is a current layout of the mall [[1]]. There are 93 stores on the layout. I don't see 100+ listed on the market profile page, you cite. [[2]] Facebook and Twitter are not reliable sources. David (talk) 17:45, 31 October 2013 (UTC)Reply

Hello. I'm new to this, so forgive me as I learn. The market profile page lists LongHorn Steakhouse, Olive Garden, Red Lobster, and Famous Dave's as retailers/restaurants. These aren't included in the lease plan layout (the 93 stores), but are referenced here, so wouldn't they be included in the store count? I understand Facebook and Twitter are not reliable sources, but I'm assuming that Centre at Salisbury is including these restaurants to claim 100+ stores. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Jhuntley72 (talkcontribs) 18:02, 31 October 2013 (UTC)Reply

If those 4 are included, that brings the count to 97. Still not 100+ David (talk) 19:54, 31 October 2013 (UTC)Reply
