Assessment

edit

This article has enough information to not be a stub. Importance is mid for Hawaii because of amount of church involvment with the state. Importance is mid for LDS Movement because of geographical constraint. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Dmm1169 (talkcontribs) 09:50, 15 January 2009 The preceding by Dmm1169 was moved here from Talk:The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Hawaii/Comments

First settlers?

edit

I found this article from an 1846 newspaper documenting Mormon emigrants from Honolulu returning to San Francisco, yet the article doesn't states that emigration began in 1850. https://cdnc.ucr.edu/cgi-bin/cdnc?a=d&d=C18460815&e=-------en--20--1--txt-txIN--------1 ৳€Ø฿€ƦȺ₡Ⱥƪ৳€Ø฿€ƦȺ₡Ⱥƪ 13:40, 22 August 2017 (UTC)Reply

Date for cited information

edit

I may very well be missing something, so I thought I'd add a note here to seek clarification. With the recent good faith edit by Bobdog54, I am not sure if the date being noted is specific to the citation that accompanies page or not, or if it ties to another reference. The citation provided does not actually have any date associated with it, which can certainly create challenges when trying to make it timeless. That is why I had edited to show the information was as of February 2019 - only because it's the current date. As I said, maybe the September 2018 date is referring to something else, which ought to be clarified, as it certainly isn't on the church's newsroom statistics page. The original citation that I updated showed a date of 9/10/18 (I think), so I used that as the date of the data given. Maybe they updated the website on Feb. 1, 2019. Since we don't know for sure - I bow to ChristensenMJ and we can both be happy that the article info is updated. Thank you for your kind comment.bobdog54 (talk) 21:37, 13 February 2019 (UTC)Reply
I don't know when it was updated, since the citation, at least the one tied to that sentence, doesn't have any date on it. That what seemed to cause some confusion. Other than the annual statistical report the church produces, many of their individual statistics pages, such as this one, don't seem to have dates on them. I am ok either way, but just wanted to note the circumstance. Thanks for your efforts! ChristensenMJ (talk) 22:23, 13 February 2019 (UTC)Reply
