Mormon myths and miracles

I'm LDS so I'm not sure how neutral I am here, but the "It is said that Matthew Cowley..." thing seems a bit wierd. Why is it a myth and what is notable about his being assigned to translate LDS scriptures? Dakane2 (talk) 22:40, 26 June 2017 (UTC)

Orphaned references in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in New Zealand

I check pages listed in Category:Pages with incorrect ref formatting to try to fix reference errors. One of the things I do is look for content for orphaned references in wikilinked articles. I have found content for some of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in New Zealand's orphans, the problem is that I found more than one version. “Indoctrinate”

I’m also LDS, but I do think it is very obviously biased that the word “indoctrinate” is used. I did change this, but it seems to have been reverted. I do not want to be involved in an edit war, so I did not change it again. If anyone thinks that the word is not biased, please let me know why. DORITO BOSS (talk) 00:54, 10 February 2023 (UTC)

One can be indoctrinated but not converted. Someone in the group might change a belief but not get baptized and indoctrinate covers all that are influenced by teachings. Influence might be a more suitable word to describe the situation, but I'm good with whatever the remaining consensus comes up with - as long as it's correctly defines the situation.-- Dmm1169 (talk) 07:55, 10 February 2023 (UTC)

Indoctrinate means "to teach false doctrine" There is an obvious bias. Influence is a better word. I'm going to change it if no one else will. VMDraper (talk) 14:35, 10 February 2023 (UTC)

Temples

The table of temples is misaligned. I suspect the template is faulty. Since no-one has previously commented on it here, I'm guessing that it works on some systems but not others. As I view them, there are no spaces between the lines in the left hand column, and some of the items in the right-hand column occupy two, three or four lines. I'm assuming you're viewing it on a small screen such as a phone. This template is modeled off of the earlier template used for List of temples of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints which had since had to be simplified due to the large number of temples. I don't know of a solution without totally redoing the template. I don't have much time anymore, but if I get time, I'll see what I can do. This being said, I don't know how to fix this without changing the full appearance of the table. Thanks - Dmm1169 (talk) 03:18, 15 October 2024 (UTC)
