I think it is John Paul Jones who is speaking about the bridge at the end of the track. It is obviously not Plant, since they are having a bit of a conversation ("Have you seen the bridge"-(JPJ, I think) "I ain't seen the bridge"-(Plant) "Where's that confounded bridge?"-(JPJ, I think)) Listening to some interviews on youtube, both recent an old, it seems most likely that it is John Paul Jones, although the interviews didn't have Bonham, so his voice couldn't be used for comparison. Based on the fact that it is most likely not Plant, I'll change the article from "Plant" to "A band member". For the record my vote is for JPJ. 99.246.29.31 (talk) 21:48, 28 December 2008 (UTC)

It's a joke, an in-joke for musicians, songwriters and scholars, I think. "Take it," Plant says, but the riff continues. "Take it, take it." The riff continues and he sings/says, "Excuse me. Oh will you excuse me. I'm tryin' to find the bridge." The line spoken at the end is wonderful topper to a music joke. In some ways, I see it as a jab at the critics who persisted at dismissing Zep because of their bad-boys image. When you think about it, Zep music is really pretty music-geeky. I think it is Plant. If you have ever heard his normal voice at the end of their live movie, The Song Remains The Same, you could tell that it sounds really similar. I like that line though, I say it just to annoy my friends. "When you think about it, Zep music is really pretty music-geeky." I agree with that. Zeppelin is just a musical thing. "9/8" Time Signature is Actually Repeated 4/4 - 1/8

It is not a typical 9/8 time signature, where there would usually be three groups of three eighth notes. The main riff easily transitions into a 4/4 verse because the main riff is actually - at least it seems that way upon inspection - 4/4 plus 1/8. Jerry (talk) 13:57, 31 July 2008 (UTC)
