Justification for removal of speedy deletion tag
editI believe this article should not be marked for deletion. I've consulted the page criteria for Notability(Music), and in particular, "Criteria for Musicians and Ensembles." I believe The Davenports are notable based on at least two criteria:
- #1 It has been the subject of multiple non-trivial published works whose source is independent from the musician/ensemble itself and reliable.[1]
Reviews of the CD "Hi-Tech Lowlife" appear on both popmatters.com and cdbaby.com
- #5 Has released two or more albums on a major label or one of the more important indie labels (i.e. an independent label with a history of more than a few years and a roster of performers, many of which are notable).
The Davenports have released two albums (with a third scheduled later this year) on Mother West records.
- #10 Has performed music for a work of media that is notable, e.g. a theme for a network television show, performance in a television show or notable film, inclusion on a compilation album, etc
The band's song "Five Steps" is the theme song to the A&E series Intervention. This is mentioned in the article.

Improvements to article demonstrating notability
edit- "has performed music for a work of media that is notable, e.g. a theme for a network television show..." provided references to one of the band's songs being used as the theme to a network television show, and a reference to their music being used in two other network television shows.
- "...the subject of multiple non-trivial published works..." provided references to album reviews in multiple publications

Re-insertion of an external link removed by bot
editA Wiki bot removed a link to a MySpace page that I'd added (and subsequently fixed a typo). I understand that MySpace pages are to normally be avoided but from the WP:EL page may be included if:
Except for a link to a page that is the subject of the article or an official page of the article subject—and not prohibited by restrictions on linking—one should avoid:
The MySpace link I'm adding is a page to the subject of the article (namely, the MySpace page of The Davenports). —Preceding unsigned comment added by W0129 (talk • contribs) 01:07, 29 May 2008 (UTC)
