edit- How about we get an updated jpg of the front page since the Register underwent a facelift earlier this year? It's a big difference. KDSanders (talk) 07:17, 19 August 2008 (UTC)
- I work at the grocery store and on the back of the paper it says Tribune company, not "Gannett" company. (Tribune has been working on buying up newspapers) I'll check again tonight before editing though, and get the ISSN while I'm at it. Evilpiratethief (talk) 22:37, 13 December 2007 (UTC)
- The Register is a Gannett company. It probably just used an article from one of the Tribune company papers. The masthead is where it lists the paper's owners, and it's located a few pages inside of the main (A) section.KDSanders (talk) 07:17, 19 August 2008 (UTC)
- Undoubtedly, you saw "Des Moines Register and Tribune Company", which is the local operating subsidiary of Gannett. The Des Moines Register used to have a sister paper named the Des Moines Tribune. Briangongol (talk) 18:35, 24 November 2009 (UTC)

The circulation figures are wildly inflated. The Register reported it's own circulation figures in an October 27, 2009 article, with a link here, http://www.desmoinesregister.com/article/20091027/BUSINESS/910270358/Newspaper-circulation-falls--including-at-Register, and they self report a daily circulation figure of 118,054 and a Sunday circulation of 204,926. That compares to their 1984 numbers of 263,671 and 375,356. It's also inflated by the fact that they give away free through the mail an unknown number of copies. It's also inflated by the numerous papers they've bought and then claimed that papers circulation figures for the Register. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 173.25.240.217 (talk) 02:18, 11 November 2009 (UTC)
