Serious Expansion!
editThis series was such an influential program. I believe this article deserves better wording, structure, and expansion. Just look at how much expansion other comedy articles are receiving, including Fawlty Towers, Father Ted, The Fast Show, and Dad's Army: the latter has it's own wikiproject. Im going to start editing and expanding the article immediately, anyone else who wants to help is most welcome to. Foxearth 01:34, 10 July 2006 (UTC)
- Indeed, I fondly recall the series as being essential viewing not only at a time when sitcoms (and TV in general) could be considered such, but there was fierce competition also. (Kmitch87 (talk) 15:33, 9 March 2010 (UTC))
There's not much about the novels here. In fact there should probably be seperate articles for the novels and the television series.Simon Peter Hughes (talk) 19:53, 4 May 2009 (UTC)
- Are the novels really that notable? The first one didn't become well-known until the TV series was aired, and the subsequent novels are just novelisations of the TV series. MFlet1 (talk) 11:36, 5 May 2009 (UTC)
Return of Reginald Perrin
editI cleaned up the sentence added by User:195.144.132.66 on 2006-12-19:
- Leonard Rossiter insisted that the quality of the first series was down it being a book adaptation so insisted Nobbs wrote books of subsequent series before he would consider appearing in them
But it's not clear if this is accurate, since no reference or citation was given. I'm leaving it in, but someone should check this. — Loadmaster 00:25, 20 December 2006 (UTC)
Second Sight?
editWhat is "Second Sight"? A DVD company? Someone please clarify and link to the correct page. As of now it's linking to the disambig. page: Second sight (disambiguation) —Preceding unsigned comment added by Danlev (talk • contribs) 09:56, 21 November 2007 (UTC)
Critical failure of 4th series
editAlthough I don't disagree with the paragraph, it is a judgement rather than something that is directly referenceable in the TV series. I think it needs a citation to support it. Biscit (talk) 11:06, 14 January 2009 (UTC)
Remake
editAdded details of 2009 remake as officially announced by the BBC, included link to press release magnius (talk) 13:46, 14 January 2009 (UTC)
Location
editGoogle streetview shows Sunshine Desserts to be much the same 30 odd years on, but the houses in Sandall Close don't look the same at all. Is this location correct? markandrewberry 18:20, 29 April 2009 (UTC)
Thanks Nakedlunch234 for correcting the locations: shame Streetview can't take me down Beaufort Close! markandrewberry 14:52, 3 June 2009 (UTC) —Preceding unsigned comment added by Markandrewberry (talk • contribs)
- Ah, you mean S nshine De ser s .
I didn't get where I am today by confusing episodes with series
edit- Each morning he is 11 then 17 then 22 minutes late (increasing with each series) yet each morning he gives a different excuse.
An IP editor changed 'each series' to 'each episode', which I'm fairly sure is wrong. I remember Joan telling someone, "He's always 22 minutes late." (I think it was 11 minutes at Sunshine Desserts and 22 minutes at Grot; when was it 17?) —Tamfang (talk) 05:35, 24 November 2009 (UTC)
- I'm not too sure myself, but I always thought he was eleven minutes late at Sunshine Desserts, seventeen minutes late at Grot and twenty two minutes late at the aresol company?--WJCB (talk) 15:20, 17 January 2010 (UTC)
- I've just finished watching the dvds and the 'each series' version is good with me. (Kmitch87 (talk) 15:25, 9 March 2010 (UTC))
- I've just watched the first two series. Eleven minutes as Reggie at Sunshine Desserts; seventeen minutes as Martin Wellbourne at Sunshine Desserts; twenty-two minutes at Grot. "Increasing with each series" is close enough. —Tamfang (talk) 20:39, 27 August 2011 (UTC)
I didn't get where I am today without some kind of context
editThe introduction needs more details of what the sitcom is actually about. The main section of the article is too long to scan and get a jist of it. 80.235.138.77 (talk) 17:24, 31 May 2010 (UTC)
the brothers J
editDid FJ appear in more than one scene? If not, is he worth mentioning in the cast list? —Tamfang (talk) 21:54, 6 November 2020 (UTC)
