Stub?

edit

I'm not sure how high we set the bar, but please, don't hurt my feelings. — WFinch 20:47, 2 September 2007 (UTC)Reply

Definitely, my apologies for hurting your feelings. I'm not even sure why I put the tag there -- it may have been an artifact of cut-and-paste. Certainly a glance at the article shows me, and everyone else, that it's not a stub. I'll remove the offending tag. Accounting4Taste 20:49, 2 September 2007 (UTC)Reply
Thanks — I chuckled, actually, because I've created enough stubs around here and I know 'em when I see 'em.
On an unrelated note, I see you've created a subcategory for the novella collections — a much better idea than the present way they're gathered, scattered loose in the "Nero Wolfe books by Rex Stout" category. The category structure is beyond my abilities here — but somebody's got it figured out, and it'll be good when this new subcategory is tucked in there.
And thanks for creating articles for the remaining books — the suspense was killing me. I'm adding what images and information I have as we speak. — WFinch 21:10, 2 September 2007 (UTC)Reply
Thanks for your comments about the subcategory; it's actually easy to do. You search to make sure there's no such category, then you type it in the way you want it on a page that merits it -- then go to the page that now contains that category, click on it, and you'll come to a page whereby you can edit the category. Just click "save page" and voila, a new category.
With respect to the remaining books -- there are still quite a few that require articles, but I don't think people are panting to read about "Under the Andes" or "Her Forbidden Knight", and I have my copies packed away in the basement...
Might I ask you to go to the Nero Wolfe talk page and give me/us the benefit of your opinion on the Barzun and Taylor quotes I've been adding recently? I know you've been working hard on the Stout pages and I think your opinion would be both educated and worthwhile. Thanks in advance. Accounting4Taste 21:31, 2 September 2007 (UTC)Reply
Done, although it appeared agreement was reached long before I got around to the Nero Wolfe talk page. So, in short, I don't know from Barzun and Taylor (put Jacques Barzun's name in brackets, now — he has a Wiki article and seems to be a big cheese), but I do have the McAleer, and a Gotwald, and I've ordered the two recent Wolfe Pack volumes that collect articles from the Gazette. I'll contribute and cite critical comments on the books as I come across them.
Thanks for splitting that Edmund Wilson comment out on The Red Box article, and for removing my (yes) comment about the book being one of the hardest to find. It was for me, but that was my problem. And you're certainly correct that WTAW is the world's worst to track down. — WFinch 03:37, 3 September 2007 (UTC)Reply
