30 pounds
editThe statement about their cds costing 30 pounds is ludacris. I just bought all their stuff here in the states for 10 dollars US or less a cd. including their "early" stuff.
- Your spelling is ludicrous.
- The EP is very rare and that sells for £30-£50 on amazon and ebay
- Also some of the CD singles have since sold out and are fetching higher prices. I've just seen a forum post where someone was complaining at 'having to pay' £22 for one of them, and was being lambasted by other users as many of them had paid more without murmur. However if the contributor with the 'Ludacris' spelling was actually telling the truth, I'd be interested to know the source selling all their material for under £5 per disc, as i'd like to put in a bulk order... 82.46.180.56 (talk) 02:43, 7 February 2008 (UTC)
- Maybe somebody ripped the tracks from the CD, burned them to blank discs, and then distributed them illegally at a lower yet still profitable price? Tim 4:40 PM, April 27, 2008 (ECT) —Preceding comment was added at 20:40, 27 April 2008 (UTC)

Name
editDifferent sources tell of different origins of the band's name. Some claim it derives from the 1985 movie The Goonies (the band confirmed that this was not the case live on air on BBC Radio 2's Jonathan Ross Show on Saturday 9 September 2006). Others tell of the band forming from a four-piece band who would play at weddings. However in a recent interview in The Sun newspaper, it would appear that the name is taken from bassist Barry, whose original surname is Fratelli, the other members of the band simply adopted that pseudonym.
So they're not related? If they were, it would be quite obvious where they got the name "The Fratellis" from. This should be clarified.
From the review of the November issue of Uncut they appear to be unrelated. It was said that Fratelli means "brother" in Italian and the real surname of Barry.
Barry's real name is actually Barry John Wallace, his mother's maiden name was Fratelli acording to his wikipedia article. Ian 15:04, 19 February 2007 (UTC)
Creeping Up The -*HTTP 404 Not Found*
editWasn't "Creeping Up The Backstairs" by The Fratellis ever released as an early single?
I heard it months ago on the radio, didn't they release it?
If so this should be put in the "Singles" section.
Flathead US Single Position
editPlease refer to the Billboard website for conformation that 'Flathead' has so far reahced #75 on the Hot 100. The following link will take you there - http://www.billboard.com/bbcom/news/article_display.jsp?vnu_content_id=1003548654

"Performances"
editSurely this should be renamed, as it suggest this is all their performances ever! Well, to me anyway. Maybe something like "notable performances" or "Television Performances"? —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 82.6.110.106 (talk) 13:35, 9 April 2007 (UTC).
- The term "notable" is generally frowned upon, being a bit of a weasel word. It it's included, notability should be assumed, not stated. Murderbike 01:34, 29 June 2007 (UTC)
Band Origin
editI am correct that the trio originated from Scotland and not Sweden, as the first line in the page says, right? I have changed it back to Scotland in the info box. Also, "brit dirt pop?" What is this? It should at the very least be capitalized properly, and more likely removed. --Asklepios 06:46, 1 May 2007 (UTC)
Fair use rationale for Image:Fratellis-ep.jpg
editImage:Fratellis-ep.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.
Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If there is other other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. The album covers need to be removed

Lists
editI am removing the Trivia and Television Appearances sections because they are just lists. You can find them in this older revision (http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=The_Fratellis&oldid=169230953) if you which to incorporate them into the page. Charles 02:29, 5 November 2007 (UTC)
Improvement
editI have added a considerable number of references and made a couple of other slight improvements. Tom Green (talk) 15:21, 17 January 2008 (UTC)
Other bands with the same name?
editAnyone know other Fratelli bands...? Just wondering as I've come across a supposed bootleg set of their material and it's plain that more than half of the tracks are nothing to do with the band mentioned in this article (the other half all being available on the open market, and so pointless), or even all made by the same group (i'm no committed fan, but "wrong" is "wrong"). Either it's someone being purposely obscure and incorrect, or there's others out there confusing (ambuigating?) the issue. 82.46.180.56 (talk) 02:47, 7 February 2008 (UTC)

General Update
editI recently gave this page a massive update, organising information and also added the information about the new album and single and added pages to both of those. Joshuar17 (talk) 17:45, 4 April 2008 (UTC)
Pronunciation
editThis subject has come up on Yahoo! Answers so it may be worth a quick mention as to whether it's pronounced "fruh-TELL-eez" or "fruh-TELL-is". GBrady (talk) 21:20, 14 August 2008 (UTC)

Image copyright problem with Image:TheFratellis-CostelloMusic.jpg
editThe image Image:TheFratellis-CostelloMusic.jpg is used in this article under a claim of fair use, but it does not have an adequate explanation for why it meets the requirements for such images when used here. In particular, for each page the image is used on, it must have an explanation linking to that page which explains why it needs to be used on that page. Please check
- That there is a non-free use rationale on the image's description page for the use in this article.
- That this article is linked to from the image description page.

Issues with the Hiatus Section
editThe hiatus section of the page is done poorly and out of context. The post made by Jon Fratelli on the band's website that started the rumors was originally posted on April 15th, not on the 25th as the article states. As it currently stands, the issue with the date makes it appear that this was the final word on the subject, which it was not. The quote the author provided was also shortened and taken out of context. The entire quote is as follows:
"We have no plans to work together right now. Sometimes things just work out that way. Mince, Baz and I are working on music but not with each other for a while. "
You'll notice "for a while" was completely ignored in the article, and they are perhaps the key to the entire message. The band, as has been stated multiple times, is on hiatus and will continue to be for some time. But that does not mean they have broken up entirely.
The ""I haven't split from anyone....!" quote referenced is indeed from April 22nd, and to date is the latest word on the matter. The context and chronological order of the article needs to be revised, and it would be appreciated if someone with the facilities could do so.
A link to all of Jon Fratelli's posts on the message board can be found at the following link, should they need to be incorporated into the article and put in proper footnotes for future reference. Thank you.

Issue with the We Need Medicine section
editThe first sentence of the second paragraph of the section appears to have some words missing. I would presume that it is meant to read something along the lines of 'The band released "She's Not Gone Yet But She's Leaving", ...' but as there is no reference linked and I could not find information online with a quick search, I would rather leave it to someone who knows more on the subject rather than potentially post false information on the page.
