Unsupported citation
editA band, apparently, keeps reinserting that it's named after the Gaslight. That's fine. But the supposed citation does not support that claim. Going to that cited site and doing a word search for "gaslight" produces no hits. I'm assuming good faith and that the person adding this is not doing self-promotion or promotion for a band of which he or she is a fan. I'm just saying that this claim needs a footnote that supports it, and to please not add a false citation. -- 207.237.230.157 (talk) 22:56, 1 April 2010 (UTC)
Closed 1971?
editA user has pointed out an inconsistency. The article states "...and in 1972 Bruce Springsteen..." Yet this article states that the gaslight closed in 1971. Does anyone know when it closed. And if so, how were there shows in 1972? Coldcreation (talk) 11:00, 26 October 2017 (UTC)
Unsourced edits
editUsers Modernist and Cyrus noto3at bulaga appear to be tag-team edit warring to add unsourced information: [1]; [2]. 75.182.115.183 (talk) 01:44, 25 February 2018 (UTC)
- Excuse me? You are the one who is edit warring for no reason against this article. Clearly you are clueless; you seem to be utterly incapable of either reading or writing references. WP:DTS...Modernist (talk) 02:20, 25 February 2018 (UTC)
- @Modernist: As I have already asked you to do (but you didn't do), please quote the sections of the sources that support your edits, including all the names of performers listed. There's a difference between citing a source and citing one that actually verifies what you claim. If you can't do that, you are violating WP:V. I could claim that the Queen of England performed in the Gaslight and put a citation after it, but that doesn't mean that the citation actually confirms it. I'll also ask Cyrus noto3at bulaga to do the same. 75.182.115.183 (talk) 02:30, 25 February 2018 (UTC)
- Either edit the article or take a walk!...Modernist (talk) 02:35, 25 February 2018 (UTC)
- @Modernist:. I did edit it. I removed the unsourced additions that you made. You've been around way to long to not know how WP:V and WP:RS work. I assume if you don't provide the quotations I asked for that you are unable to do so. I'm giving this a day or two, and then again removing the unsourced content that was tagged as unsourced for four years. Then if you restore it unsourced and don't want to back up what you write with quotations, I'll be happy to discuss it with you at WP:ANI. Your edit history on this article speaks loud and clear. 75.182.115.183 (talk) 02:41, 25 February 2018 (UTC)
- I added several references in the last few days; nothing is done because you want it done right now - are you 2 years old? or maybe five years old? Cool it read this: WP:DTS the article is getting referenced; sometimes it takes a few days. By the way, I was at that club dozens of times; and I saw many of those people perform there...Modernist (talk) 02:53, 25 February 2018 (UTC)
- @Modernist: I'm not asking for anything to be done right now except for adding sources that back up what you write. If you want to only write what is sourced now and add more with sources later, that's fine. But since a global unsourced tag was up for four years it's not unreasonable to expect sources when the material is added. If Wikipedia had a policy of "I'll edit now and add sources when I get around to it", there would be a huge mess. What you saw at the club is irrelevant. I'm sure you're aware of the basic parts of WP:V; personal experiences of an editor that at not published in a reliable source are not permitted. I was there too; I've been to a lot of historical places and events, but I don't add anything on Wikipedia without a source. And accusing me of not being able to read or comprehend and telling me I'm 2 years old does nothing to fulfill Wikipedia's requirements for sources. Spend half the time you have spent badmouthing me here and on others' talk pages in actually findings sources, and we won't have a problem. 75.182.115.183 (talk) 03:01, 25 February 2018 (UTC)

- @Cyrus noto3at bulaga: The parts that you restored are unsourced. I'll ask you to be reasonable and revert your edit. Then you and I don't have a problem. Thanks. 75.182.115.183 (talk) 03:01, 25 February 2018 (UTC)
