Episode titles

edit

Hello! I would like to ask your opinion guys about the topic of the usage (or non-usage otherwise) of episode titles for The Gifted: Graduation. I recently just reverted the edit of an IP user 27.55.72.205: in this reverted edit, the user indicated episode titles for the drama (Episode 1: "Student Move" & Episode 2: "F*ck Gifted"). If I am not mistaken, these "titles" are the ones promoted by the drama's director Waasuthep Ketpetch in his Instagram account (see here). But it is an evident fact that there has been no episode title indicated in the drama's title sequence in its final output (i.e. actual broadcast) in GMM25. This has been observed in Episode 1, aired 6 September 2020, and I surmise this trend will remain for the rest of the episodes in the drama's entire running schedule.

Thus, considering the facts at hand, I judged that these "titles" do no constitute as formal, legit episode titles for "The Gifted: Graduation." Unless significant renaming of the episodes occur in the title sequence and/or GMM25/GMMTV's promotion of the drama, it remains that "The Gifted: Graduation" has no per-episode titles.

An example of the evident use of episode titles in GMMTV dramas include The Shipper (2020). Since the episode titles promoted by its director Aticha Tanthanawigrai in her Twitter account are also used in the actual broadcast (considering these episode titles are also used by Tanthanawigrai in the drama's screenplay), these constitute as formal, legit episode titles for the drama.

Did I judge correctly with regards to this issue? What are your thoughts on this? I'll gladly hear them out.

Thank you!

@Emperork: Hello! What's your idea about this case? I already have undid two edits relevant to this, though I do assume they were done in good faith.
I concur with Nairb.Idi9's position above. The problem is that the {{Episode list}} template expects each episode to have a name, so editors will try to put something in. This should probably be raised with WikiProject Television or at the template's talk page. --Paul_012 (talk) 17:08, 19 September 2020 (UTC)Reply
@Nairb.Idi9: Hi! I just saw this. I seldom see episode titles in most Thai series I do follow and unless if there is an explicit mention of the episode name similar to The Shipper, then it would be justifiable to add the episode name. There is also an option anyway to not include the episode title for the said template but you would have a very wide space for the original air date. — Emperork (talk) 01:59, 20 September 2020 (UTC)Reply
I already requested this to be protected from disruptive editing esp. on the EP titles part and has been granted such (as of yesterday) for 10 days. — Emperork (talk) 01:33, 12 October 2020 (UTC)Reply

what is your problem?

Inclusion of Narabodin Deeboonmee et al. in Guest role section

edit

@Emperork: @Paul 012: Hello! I would like to ask your opinion about the inclusion of the names of certain actors/actress in the Guest role section, as reflected in the edits by IP user 110.136.33.213. The names include Narabodin Deeboonmee, Rossi Nonthakorn, Dylan Alexander Bryant, Pusit Disthapisit and Pichaya Pocharoen. These actors/actresses apparently appeared at the end of Episode 8 in a post-credits scene.

This edit gives me qualms, though, because the post-credits scene where Deeboonmee et al. appeared is only a form of product placement for the cosmetic Clean & Clear, i.e. the product placement was in a form of a post-credits scene which happens to include actors/actresses and elements from the legitimate The Gifted: Graduation series. I have a strong feeling that this post-credits scene is NEVER a part of the series' original screenplay (in contrast to many series that include epilogues or post-credits scene that are evidently and rightly part of the series' storyline and, thus, the screenplay). I think any critical viewer of The Gifted: Graduation would instantly observe that the post-credits scene in Episode 8 (and all other product placement post-credits scenes in previous episodes) are stark outliers to the main storyline or flow of the series.

With this, I have thought of reverting this edit, but I hesitated since we are talking here of actors/actresses being included in the list because they did appear in the series, albeit in a relatively non-legit way.

What about you, guys? Do we have to reverts these edits (thus, considering Deeboonmee et al. as not part of the official credits list of The Gifted: Graduation) or not (thus, treating them otherwise)? What are your thoughts on this? I'll gladly hear them out.

Thank you!

Pusit is the only one from the product-placement short, which I agree is not part of the series proper and probably doesn't warrant listing. The rest are supporting actors listed in the credited cast. --Paul_012 (talk) 12:20, 26 October 2020 (UTC)Reply

Here's the full list of supporting actors from the credits. I'll leave it to the regular contributors to incorporate it into the article if desired. Note that these are all credited as the supporting cast. Tanat, Tawan and Tipnaree are the only ones credited as guests, while Wanchana, Manatsanun, Chatchawit, Jirakit and Poramet are credited as the main cast. Also, the credits appear to grow as the series progresses, so more names may show up in later episodes. --Paul_012 (talk) 13:09, 26 October 2020 (UTC)Reply

@Paul 012: Thanks! I've been looking for someone who could translate the credits so that they can be included the list. Thank you so much! —Nairb.Idi9 (talk)
:@Paul 012: If it's okay with you, would you like to keep adding names in the list (here in the Talk page) when more are added in the credits as the series progresses? —Nairb.Idi9 (talk)
This might help MOS:TVCAST. It also says here that "not every fictional character ever created deserves to be listed" so I'm not really sure if there is a need to include all other characters who might not fall into WP's criteria. Also, it advises "local consensus" as a way to determine whether the person/character has a recurring or guest role in the series. — Emperork (talk) 02:34, 27 October 2020 (UTC)Reply
No problem regarding the updates. As for whether to list the entire credited cast in the article, I wouldn't mind either keeping or dropping the supporting roles altogether (but choosing to keep only some of them might fall into OR territory). Also, the "guest" appearances here are much more noteworthy than the "supporting" roles, and could be listed before them. I wouldn't mind changing the subheadings. --Paul_012 (talk) 13:59, 27 October 2020 (UTC)Reply
