Not R&B

edit

I guess this is not a R&B album. I've got the 3 CD boxed set "The Birth of Soul" and it is supposed to include all Atlantic Rhythm and Blues recordings. None of these are included. --Lalli 20:23, 16 July 2007 (UTC)Reply

Rhino re-issue "two-fers"

edit

I'm not sure if it is useful / important to include the track listing from Rhino Records' 2004 re-issue of The Great Ray Charles that includes 6 tracks from The Genius After Hours. I removed this later track listing today from The Great Ray Charles article and restored the original LP track listing. But I preserve the Rhino records re-issue track listing below in case someone feels it should be added to the article:

All songs written by Ray Charles except as indicated.
  1. "Dawn Ray" – 5:03
  2. "The Man I Love" (George Gershwin/Ira Gershwin) – 4:28
  3. "Music, Music, Music" (Baum/Weiss) – 2:56
  4. "Black Coffee" (Burke/Webster) – 5:32
  5. "The Ray" (Jones) – 4:00
  6. "I Surrender, Dear" (Barris/Clifford) – 5:08
  7. "Hornful Soul" – 5:30
  8. "Ain't Misbehavin'" (Brooks/Razaf/Waller) – 5:41
  9. "Joy Ride" – 4:40
  10. "Sweet Sixteen Bars" – 4:07
  11. "Doodlin'" (Silver) – 5:54
  12. "There's No You" (Adair/Hopper) – 4:47
  13. "Undecided" (Robin/Shavers) – 3:40
  14. "My Melancholy Baby" (Burnett/Norton) – 4:20

"Black Coffee" vs "Ain't Misbehavin'"

edit

Apparently there are some versions of this album that include "Ain't Misbehavin'" and do not include "Black Coffee". (see discussion at organissimo.org). I presume "Black Coffee" is the correct track (see www.loc.gov/standards/...) This is also what appears on photos of the original (?) LP album cover and labels (see listing at e-bay France) Pugetbill (talk) 20:25, 7 March 2009 (UTC)Reply
