Merge with constituent albums
editThe articles corresponding to the constituent albums of this series do not present sufficient information to stand individually. They should be merged into this article. Neelix (talk) 21:43, 31 October 2008 (UTC)
- These are not usually regarded as constituent albums: Vols 1 and 2 recorded by distinct groups some months apart; the record now known as "Nothing Is" originally catalogued as Vol 3 (see back of the original ESP-Disk LPs); a separate CD of outtakes released as Vol 3 some 40 yrs later. To quote from the [Allmusic review] of Vol 2: "Although the "Vol. 2" in the title insinuates some degree of continuity with its predecessor, this is a bit of a misnomer as the only acknowledged connection with The Heliocentric Worlds of Sun Ra, Vol. 1 (the volume number only indicating the order in which they were issued).". So I see no reason to merge them. AllyD (talk) 22:37, 31 October 2008 (UTC)
- The only direct link between these albums is that they were all released on ESP. I think each original album should have it's own page. They're all great, and they all deserve it. Vol1 shares similarities with Other Planes of There, whilst vol2 sounds more like the Magic City. Incidentally, Vol1 was originally simply called the Heliocentric Worlds of Sun Ra, and only acquired the addition when the sleeve was changed after vol2 was released. See [1] for the original sleeve. I see no reason to merge them either.Franciselliott (talk) 20:51, 4 December 2008 (UTC)
