"(Rumor has it that the first series was finished in 7 volumes and that Tanaka is currently working on a second series of Arslan that takes place three years after the first.)" - I edited this out. For one, the series is nowhere near being finished at the end of the seventh volume, although it is a conclusion to the first part of the story (it very loosely corresponts to the last episode of the anime). However, the story continues for another 4 (as of now) volumes. Two, I haven't heard of any rumors of a second series. There has been only one side story (about a pre-series adventure of Daryun) as of yet.

(A second series is quite inconceivable, regarding that the author seems to have abandoned Arslan. At least, in my personal opinion the reason Arslan is not finished yet is that Tanaka simply got bored of it or ran out of ideas.)

"Unfinished OAV series"?

Wasn't the OAV series finally concluded fairly recently?

Both are acceptable. It's true not being concluded as a story(because the original novel still continues...). But it is true not to schedule the continuation of this anime version of Arslan to be released either. Because Kakugawa that has related with this series has not enjoyed a right any longer, the series more than this cannot be releaced. The DVD box only with existing titles is already sold in Japan. At least, Sony doesn't intend to continue the series any further...--Morio 19:27, 5 January 2006 (UTC)

Names

Fixed a typo and added a line about the origins of some characters' names.

I have some problems with how the article deals with the names of characters and countries. I'll write a proposal when I have some free time. Nargasse name not Persian ?

Hi all,

I do not know much about this manga, but you can a name close to this one in Persian culture. "Nargesse" is a common name for women. I would thus suggest to change this in the article.

Loved the anime by the way, I am adding my own interpretation, some names are found in the Sassanian age of Iran, and some of the other characters in the Parthian dynasty of Iran. Narseh is a Sassanian king, the Greek or western interpretation of his name is Narsus or Narseus. The name might be derived there because most histories of antiquity is based on histories made by Latin and Greek writers.

Current summary covers only one episode of the OAV

I just viewed the first OAV (a minute ago), and I realized that the summary only covers this one episode. Although the summary is informative and well-written, it would be nice of it to cover the others. Contradictory article

This says on the sidebar that there was a film of 57 minutes, another of 60 minutes, and four OAVs of 30 minutes each.

The footnote says that "The anime series was originally released as two films and four OVAs. The films were subesquently combined with the OVAs in more recent releases, and the titles of the releases: one with four episodes (2x1h, 2x30m) and six episodes (6x30m)."

The lengths given on the sidebar are an hour off of the ones in the footnote. Ken Arromdee (talk) 05:12, 29 September 2013 (UTC)

It also makes reference to "the aforementioned issues regarding translations and names" without actually discussing any such issues.

I'd assume this refers to the "inconsistencies in both dubs" of the inital two OVAs: Part 1 made by Central Park Media and Part 2 by Manga UK. CirTap (talk) 16:51, 14 March 2017 (UTC)
