Parochial apostrophes
editAs the modern tendency in written Scots appears to deprecate apostrophes, essentially for being an expression of chauvinism, should they be removed from the lyrics here? A bit of a glossary in the form of footnotes might be useful anyway, and the first occurrences of an a and so on could be included.—Odysseus1479 03:47, 30 January 2016 (UTC)
Compare the opening of the main section of Boildieu's overture to "la Dame Blanche" with the part of the tune which announces the hundred pipera - Lady Nairne would have known it, though I don't think she wrote the tune as well.Delahays (talk) 11:12, 2 November 2017 (UTC)
