I feel that the information I give is constructive and has more depth than the previous edits. I am an ex-student and I know the building inside out. If you are going to revert to previous edits please give a more credible reason. Thanks and have a nice day. C

editThe full list of staff seems a little much. I think the head and senior management team should be in the article though. Possibly the heads of each subject too though I am not married to the idea.MaybeMaybeMaybe (talk) 20:42, 4 October 2012 (UTC)
I like that idea. Unfortunately each department does not have a specific head but a group of departments have a PT or PTC such as Mrs Watkins covers Modern Languages and English whilst Miss McTiernanr covers all social subjects...I could add this and maybe the 3 extra curricular PTC's (PTC Global Citzenship etc)? Also what do you think about adding a section about the achievement of the 3rd green flag? I would have to search for online references however as I just know it from my knowledge... Danielj27052705 (talk) 22:36, 5 October 2012 (UTC)
- Yes, exactly, you would have to find third-party sources (ie not from the school) to verify this. --John (talk) 22:51, 5 October 2012 (UTC)
- To verify the senior Staff/PTC's or the 3rd Green Flag? Danielj27052705 (talk) 06:57, 6 October 2012 (UTC)
- Either. --John (talk) 09:22, 6 October 2012 (UTC)
What about this for the Staff?
editI have still to add references though
Staff
editThe school has over 100 members of staff and there are the select few who are considered a PTC or Senior Staff.
Senior Staff
- Mrs C Hatch- Headteacher
- Mrs E Jessiman- Deputy Head Teacher, Curriculum
- Mrs C Kendall- Deputy Head Teacher, Pupil Support
- Mrs Y Lawton- Business support management
Pupil Support Manager
- Mrs Mackie
Principal Teacher Curriculum- Subjects
- Mrs S Watkins
- Mrs S Reid
- Mr D McMillan
- Miss McTiernanr
- Mrs Sim
- Mr B Dobson
- Mr Sammons
Principal Teachers Curriculum- Pupil Support
- Mrs N Janetta
- Mrs G Hope
- Mr P Caddick
- Mr G Owen
- Only the Senior Staff would be notable for our purposes. --John (talk) 15:42, 6 October 2012 (UTC)
- These are the senior Staff members although the senior staff is further split into management (the first 4 names) and PTC's (the rest of the list) Danielj27052705 (talk) 17:54, 6 October 2012 (UTC)
- I know. Put it this way, can extensive third-party sources be found for the others? If not, they cannot be included. --John (talk) 18:06, 6 October 2012 (UTC)
What about saying along with it- There are also 7 PTC's for Curriclum and 4 PTC's for Pupil Support. This isn't to vague, doesn't mention names and is very short? Danielj27052705 (talk) 20:56, 6 October 2012 (UTC)
- Yes, that seems ok. --John (talk) 21:19, 6 October 2012 (UTC)
- Added. --John (talk) 21:47, 6 October 2012 (UTC)
Academic Achievement/ Awards
editI was thinking of including a section on the academic achievement level of the school (i.e matching national average) and also I could include the 3rd Green Flag information and other achiemnets the school has made. Very similar to this section in Hanley Castle High School http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hanley_Castle_High_School#Academic_achievement
Which is nominated for good articles award and therefore the sections should not be deemed not appropriate for James Young. Also in the article I can self cite myself for some information due to WP:COS Danielj27052705 (talk) 21:15, 6 October 2012 (UTC)
- You'll notice in that section you refer to there are good sources. Good sources are the key. Do you have good sources? --John (talk) 21:20, 6 October 2012 (UTC)
- For the green flag I have many sources including DEEP, West Lothian Council, Eco Schools Scotland (the awarders of the flag) and Green Business Partnership. These with the a single Personal Citation should be enough, should it not? Danielj27052705 (talk) 21:41, 6 October 2012 (UTC)
- The personal citation isn't a factor. See WP:NOR. The GF is fine. Do you have sources for the academic stuff?--John (talk) 21:47, 6 October 2012 (UTC)
Ok I will use another source I found. I have not yet looked up the academic refrences as I have been quite busy- but I will look soon for them and tell you the websites. Right now I should be getting to bed. It is 11 at night in Britain. Haha Danielj27052705 (talk) 22:08, 6 October 2012 (UTC)
Added!
editAdded the Staff section and a couple of little things in the side box thing (all with references, not only from the school).
I also was wanting to add the fact that S5 wears blazers to the little section on school dress but I only have a reference on the schools website. Is this still OK to add it? Danielj27052705 (talk) 22:06, 6 October 2012 (UTC)
- I had already added it in more concise form, as I noted above. No, I wouldn't think that worth adding. It isn't that unusual. --John (talk) 22:24, 6 October 2012 (UTC)
- It is considered unusual for it to be required- especially how no proximal schools enforce this Danielj27052705 (talk) 23:13, 6 October 2012 (UTC).
- Well, if you can find sources to that effect, we could include it. --John (talk) 23:24, 6 October 2012 (UTC)
Founder
editJames Young could not have been the founder as he died 100 years before the school was founded. --John (talk) 22:25, 6 October 2012 (UTC)
- How would one say name after or created in honur of? Danielj27052705 (talk) 23:11, 6 October 2012 (UTC)
- Just "named after" is fine. --John (talk) 23:26, 6 October 2012 (UTC)
