Inclusive of BBC series
editWhat are people views of people having the BBC series included? There is no wiki page for that series, and it was continuoustion. --Crazyseiko (talk) 23:58, 24 November 2018 (UTC)
- I think the BBC and ITV programmes were sufficiently different for them not to share the same article.
- The BBC show was a sketch-comedy show with a studio audience. The ITV show was originally a music show with bits of comedy in between (although the music-to-comedy ratio gradually decreased), with no audience apart from the studio technicians.
- The BBC show's characters were technically different (they had different names, for copyright reasons), even though many were very similar to the ITV show's characters.
- The two shows had different names. What would be the title of an article about both shows?
- The material added to this article yesterday is just a copy-and-paste from the Kenny Everett article, so it adds nothing new to the encyclopaedia. I think there is a case for a separate article about the BBC show, but it would need some extra detail added. If there were consensus to merge both shows into this article, then more work would be needed to rewrite the introduction and the infobox. But I think the BBC material should be removed from this article and replaced with just a sentence or two summarising the BBC show, with a link (for further details) to Kenny Everett § The Kenny Everett Television Show (BBC 1981–88) (which could later be replaced by a link to an article about that show, if someone writes it). -- Dr Greg talk 09:54, 25 November 2018 (UTC)
