As part of Wikipedia:WikiProject Good articles' Project quality task force, all old good articles are being re-reviewed to ensure that they meet current good article criteria (as detailed at WP:WIAGA.) I have determined that this article needs a large amount of work to meet current criteria:
- The lead needs to be fleshed out more. Reception is barely touched on (WP:LEAD)
- Large swaths of the article are unsourced, in addition to the [citation needed] tags spread about. You could make the argument the plot synopsis doesn't need to be sourced, but considering it's a concert it shouldn't be that hard to verify most of it.
- There are many one or two sentence groupings that are not actually paragraphs (they need three or more sentences.) These need to be cut, fleshed out, or merged together.
- The reception section could be larger and needs its phrasing converted to past tense. Using Rotten Tomatoes for rankings is disingenuous considering it did not exist during the concert, and so is most likely skewed to more recent reviews. Why is Helm's (unverified) claims given its own section and undue weight?
- Excessive use of non-free images throughout in violation of WP:NFCC. File:RichardManuelLastWaltz.jpg, File:LastWaltzGalleryShot.jpg, File:Levonhelmlastwaltzscreenshot.jpg, File:LastWaltzMoviePoster.jpg, File:Garthhudsonlastwaltzscreens.jpg and File:Rickdankolastwaltzstill.jpg, despite the claims to the contrary, could easily be replaced with free images of the band members from another night or even from the concert (given that there's a free image in the infobox, it's clear photos were taken.)
Given the size of the above issues, I am boldly delisting the article. It can be renominated at any time, but in its present condition it would most likely be quick-failed, so I suggest improvement first. If you have any questions or comments, take them to my talk page; I don't watchlist old reviews. Thanks, Der Wohltemperierte Fuchs(talk) 19:42, 12 December 2009 (UTC)
