Talk:The League of Gentlemen (album)

Technically speaking this is an album by Robert Fripp entitled 'the League of Gentlemen'.

It was indeed performed by a band called 'The League of Gentlemen' who are credited individually on the album sleeve BUT the album is not by 'The League of Gentlemen' if you see what I mean.

I tried to bring this out in my first draft of the page but it was changed and seemed less accurate - I changed it back again.

Sorry to be nerdy about this but I'm just reading the facts off the album sleeve.

This album has the catalogue number EGED 9 and is copyright of EG Records Ltd 1981 - I have a copy of the album but not sure if this counts as a reference???

All caps

Is it really worth mentioning that the track titles are printed in ALL CAPS, when that's true of probably most albums? All caps is used everywhere for reasons that have nothing to do with dictating spelling. Besides, the title "Minor Man" is repeated as such elsewhere on the album jacket. Richard K. I don't think it is true of most albums. And I think it's quite odd to have to contravene MOS here just to try and copy the record design. This is a not a tribute fan site. Likewise with "Heptaparaparshinokh" and "Dislocated". So it's not some big deal "special language" type of thing here? I would suggest regularising the track listing and not even mentioning it. Hi!

All-capitals appear frequently on title pages of publications, but in all cases known to me they are replaced in bibliographical entries according to the MOS of the publication. Here, the appearance of all-caps could be OR, because there is no citation establishes that a reliable source discusses the capitalization. Even if one or several did, we should have to consider the WP:MOS. Until reliable sources appear for the assertion about capitalization (even better than All Music or DGM's catalog), we should just follow the WP:MOS. (We can continue this discussion after WP:RS are added that claim that capitalization is an important design element.)
