Indications of notability

edit

This article is partly my translation of the corresponding article on the Esperanto Vikipedio (see the link at the left side of the article), and partly a translation by Ralph Eliott (of the book title and chapter titles). The Esperanto Vikipedio article has existed since 2004, and that indicates to me some notability. (Also, the latter article states that it is based on information in the Enciklopedio de Esperanto, and that also indicates to me some notability.) Therefore, it seems odd to me that someone would question the notability of an English-language article of similar length. -- Wavelength 18:25, 2 October 2007 (UTC)Reply

The author is probably notable as he's been dead for forty years and still gets scholarly G-hits. He appears to have been quite a force in Esperanto, the peace movement of the early 20th century, and Socialism. This book still gets G-hits and is still being bought and sold eighty years after publication. It appears to be a definitive bio of Dr. Zamenhof, who is certainly notable. (You'd think these would be FA on Vikipedio. Oh, well.) Cheers, :) Dlohcierekim 22:01, 16 October 2007 (UTC)Reply
