I am wondering if these two songs should be included as they are not listed as musical numbers in the LITP program. They are on included on the cast recording. American Dancing Clara's Interlude
American Dancing is not a song. It is really underscoring for a scene in the tie shop with Frabizio, Giuseppe & Signor Naccarelli. Giuseppe does do a short dance to the music at one point however there is no singing. During the pre-Broadway run in Chicago, Giuseppe did not dance during this number.
Clara's Interlude is also not listed as a Musical Number in the Broadway program.

editI removed the following review of the national tour, posted by 67.117.144.75. Although the comments are interesting, they hardly belong to an encyclopedia.
Hot off the presses review of the first performance of the National Touring Cast (August 2, 2006 San Francisco).
In a nutshell, there is only one performer worth seeing: Elena Shaddow. She can sing. She is spectacular!
All of the other cast members rely far too much on the mike. For example, David Burnham is so breathy he is flat by 1/4 tone on every note except his "money notes" (the high notes that he punches through like a fist through dryboard.). Don't even ask if Christine Andreas can actually sing - she can't even hold a North Carolina accent through the first act and then makes the mistake of trying to sing in said accent.
If it were not for the high ticket price, stunning period costumes and the excellent set design, I would have thought I was in a high school production. Perhaps I am being a little tough on this cast, but they are supposed to be professionals. It may well be that they simply suffered from a bad director - who came out before the show and actually apologized in advance for the performance. In any event, if the opening night performance is any indication, this tour is in serious trouble.
"Light" is a lovely, touching piece of theatre. But in the hands of this cast, it is a tragedy.
Wrong Spencer
editThe link for the author's name in the article's first line points to an article about some imaginary character of the samename in _General Hospital_.
New Spencer Article
editI've created an entry for the author Elizabeth Spencer and linked to it from this article. At the moment it's barely stub class, so if anyone here wants to contribute to it, feel free. Clampton 20:09, 26 November 2006 (UTC)
Why no article on the movie?
editIt came beforehand (1962) and by the nature of the medium, will last longer. Softlavender (talk) 10:59, 11 August 2008 (UTC)
There's an article on the movie here, but it's a stub. If you're familiar with it, why don't you expand it?Clampton (talk) 23:33, 11 August 2008 (UTC)
And, in fact, it looks like somebody's already started. Clampton (talk) 23:36, 11 August 2008 (UTC)
Critical responses
editThe article would benefit from a section on the responses of prominent theater critics. Does anyone know of particularly notable praises or pans? Despite all the awards and nominations, I know I distinctly remember hearing a lot of pans, though I suppose they could have been for the movie. (Just got home from a high-effort regional-theater production and looked it up because everyone I talked to agreed this musical was just awful and it had little to do with the performances.) Year?
editWhy is this article in the "2005 musicals" category when a 2003 performance is listed in the same article????? 173.88.246.138 (talk) 09:51, 23 September 2020 (UTC)
