Discrepancy in results
editThere seems to be a discrepancy in the results of the lightweight women's races between the current website at https://www.lightweightboatraces.co.uk/results and the archived results from the old Henley Boat Races page at https://web.archive.org/web/20210802001852/http://henleyboatraces.com/results . The difference seems to be regarding the 1986 result, but of course it affects the cumulative totals. I attended many of the races and would for many of them be able to resolve discrepancies, but unfortunately I can't find the programme for the 1986 races. Any sources which could resolve the discrepancy would be welcomed. - David Biddulph (talk) 13:18, 21 March 2023 (UTC)
- David,
- The 1986 womens lightweight boatrace, rowed over the reverse HRR course (approximately, given there were no stake boats) was won by Oxford as documented in the HBR records. THe new website that includes the Tideway races wrongly attributes 1986 as a Cambridge win. There was no winning margin or time recorded. The umpire was a certain M Sweeney.
- Hope that clarifies.
