Hey, I'm going to be reviewing this article. Expect comments by the end of the week. Some Dude From North Carolina (talk) 15:16, 26 March 2021 (UTC)Reply

Infobox and lead

edit
  • Non-free use rationale is in great shape!
  • Infobox also looks good.
  • Add a serial comma after "murky synths".
  • Add a comma after Slovakia.
  • Also add a comma after "toxic masculinity".
    •   Done

Background and composition

edit
  • Remove the comma after "three months" (the sentence is short).
  • "of lead single" → "of the lead single"
  • "a uptempo" → "an uptempo"
  • What is the purpose of "She added:" when there's no quote?
  • Add a comma after "February 7, 2020" per MOS:DATECOMMA.
  • "12pm" → "12 pm" (also, is the time necessary?).
    •   Done. I removed "She added:" and "12 pm" as they seem irrelevant.

Critical reception

edit
  • Remove the comma after the first use of Forbes.
  • Wikilink Jon Caramanica.
  • The order of various sections feels off. It would be more pleasant to have background information, then info on the music and lyrics, and finally reception and live performances. To do this, I would combine both sections about #Critical_reception and rename it to #Critical_response and move it, along with #Commerical_perfomance and #Accolades, under #Lyric_video. After that, I would add a "Reception" header to all three of those moved sections and turn them into subsections as:
===Reception===

====Commercial performance====

====Critical response====

====Accolades====
    •   Done. After merging the two "Critical reception" sections, I found that there was some overlinking due to moving the music video reception below the song reception, so I removed that as well.
  • "music video received" → "music video also received" (since they're now combined).
  • I would also suggest combining the third and fourth paragraphs in #Critical_response.
  • The sentence ending with "alter-ego" needs recited sources per WP:QUOTE.
  • Remove the comma after "Bryan Rolli of Forbes"
    •   Done. I removed the "alter-ego" part of the sentence (the quoted part) as I looked through all the music video reception sources and couldn't find anything that backed that up.

Commercial performance

edit
  • Add a serial comma after "Billboard Hot 100".
  • The last sentence in the second paragraph needs a source.
  • "in Netherlands" → "in the Netherlands"
    •   Done. I removed the last sentence in the second paragraph as, reading it, it seems like synthesis. Billboard charting allows you to see all the songs that charted by one artist at a time on a certain chart, and, since there's no source, I'm assuming the editor counted the number of songs on the chart and inserted that into the article.

Music video

edit
  • "will be released in two days' time" → "would be released in two days"
  • References are needed for the sentence claiming that "The video's production team includes producer Jil Hardin, executive producer Rebecca Skinner, assistant director Joe Osborne, cinematographer Rodrigo Prieto, production designer Ethan Tobman, and makeup artist Bill Corso."
  • Sources are also needed for the last sentence in #Background.
  • Add commas after 1989, "owner", and Jake Gyllenhaal.
  • "constitution" → "Constitution"
    •   Done. Bill Corso (makeup artist) was mentioned in one of the Rolling Stone sources, so I added a copy of that ref to the end of that sentence. I found the rest of the team mentioned in the description of the official music video posted to YouTube, so I included the YouTube link for that. Ingenuity Studios (the last sentence of #Background) was also mentioned in the YT description, so I added the ref there as well. I couldn’t find a reference that stated that they previously helped on previous music videos, so I removed that.

Lyric video

edit
  • Add a serial comma after "feminism".
  • Other than that, this section looks good.
    •   Done

Accolades

edit
  • This section also looks good.

Impact

edit
  • Add a serial comma after "Spotify".
    •   Done

Live performances

edit
  • Add a comma after "November 24, 2019" per MOS:DATECOMMA.
    •   Done

Live acoustic version

edit
  • "that video" → "that the video"
    •   Done

Credits and personnel / Charts / Certifications and sales / Release history

edit
  • All these sections look good.

References

edit
  • Archive all archivable sources (either manually or with this tool).
  • New York TimesThe New York Times
  • UPROXXUproxx
  • Mark references from Rolling Stone with "|url-access=limited".
  • Mark references from The Atlantic with "|url-access=limited".
  • Mark references from The New York Times with "|url-access=limited".
  • Mark references from Time with "|url-access=limited".
  • Mark references from Vulture with "|url-access=limited".
  • Mark references from The Washington Post with "|url-access=limited".
