Not a Fan Page
editSheesh, just because it is an encyclopedia doesn't mean it has to be boring. I doubt you will ever see me start an article if I were not a fan, but I worked hard on this article, and I have tried to keep a formal tone. If you check the text, the fan gush you seem to be objecting to is in the quotes (which were retained), not in what I wrote. For instance, my comment about "strong musicality" is a way of describing what Greg Shaw meant by comparing the Outcasts to the Pretty Things (which, in his and my opinion, is British Invasion music "at its best"). The reference to the initially strong record sales in Pittsburgh (which is mentioned in their best known song) should certainly be retained. I have included some description of the songs in this and other articles, but many music articles do that; some go into chords and musical instrument types and all sorts of other details that frankly don't interest me that much. I will be happy to adjust the article to be more in line with Wikipedia standards, but these changes seem to me to go way too far. Shocking Blue (talk) 12:47, 16 April 2008 (UTC)
- "Fan gush", indeed. That's a pretty good description of what I was thinking when I read this. It reads like a magazine article, or even liner notes. It does not read like an encyclopedia article. Imnsho. Way too many intensifiers and uncited POV. Eaglizard (talk) 07:55, 21 May 2012 (UTC)
Best known ?
editUgly Things rated them as "best known Outcasts" because they mixed them up with the New York group. I personally sent them e-mails to correct the compilation database, which they did. (E-Kartoffel (talk) 12:25, 4 August 2015 (UTC))
