Talk:The Phoenix Partnership

My knowledge of Wikipedia processes/standards is rather out of date, but this entire entry reads rather like an advert, which feels inappropriate. 31.221.86.178 (talk) 13:07, 11 August 2017 (UTC)Reply

Objectivity

edit

I doubt this article is very objective. It does indeed sound like an advert. Sentences like 'TPP remain committed to employing the best graduates from across the UK', ' an impressive 100% system availability', ' The social aspect of working at TPP, in particular their employment perks such as the free Friday bar tab, allows this atmosphere of integration to be achieved.'

This article needs a lot of editing. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 131.111.184.86 (talk) 18:05, 4 November 2017 (UTC)Reply

Agreed. I am fairly sure this has been written as part of a PR strategy. Even the founders and founding date have lots of conflicting evidence.
· Dec 1998: https://web.archive.org/web/19981207073008/http://www.thephoenix.co.uk:80/ a website captured with the title tag of "The Phoenix Partnership" (though none of the content from the time appears to have survived in the wayback machine). This URL later contains the company's actual website.
· Jan 2006: https://www.digitalhealth.net/2006/01/meet-the-suppliers-tpp/ "Hester’s business partner and fellow director, Satvinder Virk" and "Hester and Virk founded the company in 1998"
· May 2006: https://web.archive.org/web/20140810134657/http://www.tpp-uk.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/03/TPP-TIMES-ISSUE-1.pdf "The story of TPP and SystmOne began seven years ago when friends Frank Hester and Satvinder Virk" in a newsletter dated May 2006 (=1999, maybe 1998?)
· Sept 2008: https://web.archive.org/web/20100516174645/http://www.tpp-uk.com/latest-news-12sep08.htm states 'co-founders' and gives the founding month/date as September 1998
· March 2014: https://www.yorkshirepost.co.uk/business/yorkshire-vision-hi-tech-at-the-heart-of-health-1843337 "[Hester] and university friend Satvinder Virk founded TPP in 1999."
· Jan 2015: https://www.digitalhealth.net/2015/01/ehi-interview-frank-hester/ "before forming TPP with university friend Satvinder Virk in 1998"
· Jan 2016: https://www.yorkshirepost.co.uk/business/tpp-supremo-stakes-aps21m-on-global-expansion-from-new-hq-in-leeds-628898 "He co-founded TPP in 1997 with a university friend"
· Current website: https://tpp-uk.com/about-us/ "TPP was founded in 1997 by Frank Hester" (no mention of Satvinder Virk)
· Companies house: https://find-and-update.company-information.service.gov.uk/company/04077829 incorporated in Sept 2000, Hester and Virk as directors from Mar 2001 onwards, Virk resigned 2011.
The best I can think of doing is using the news articles as sources and reporting the founding dates as "between 1997 and 1999". Companies house is demonstrably false, as there was a website for the company before that point.
