JENNY DEATH TRACKLIST
editoh my god guys stop editing the JD tracklist until the actual thing is released, the Grips haven't confirmed anything yet. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 134.228.11.196 (talk) 18:54, 24 December 2014 (UTC)
The HMV Japan page clearly shows a tracklisting, which is most likely official since HMV Japan is a reliable source. Deddreddredemption (talk) 04:44, 30 December 2014 (UTC)
2015 release?
editI don't think there's any source out there suggesting Jenny Death will be released in 2015. Personally I'm writing the release date as TBA now. Correct me if I'm wrong. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 147.69.165.123 (talk) 05:07, 2 January 2015 (UTC)
- Resolved on all TPTB-related pages, I think! SwimFellow (talk) 20:14, 3 January 2015 (UTC)
Nick Reinhart
editIt remains unconfirmed that Nick Reinhart is the guitarist for Jenny Death, Please do not add him anymore. When it is confirmed, add him and then cite the source. HakuemeniB (talk) 16:10, 15 March 2015 (UTC)
Genre
editThe genre on this article has been changed from other genres to just Experimental Hip Hop many times. I know that your view on the genre is subjective but I definitely think that 'Rapcore' and electro-industrial apply to the album, especially considering On GP and a number of other tracks sounding very rapcore. Mr Serious Guy (talk) 20:45, 15 March 2015 (UTC)
- I really don't think this really fits as rapcore or rap rock. While there is a non-trivial rock influence on several tracks (enough, I think, to warrant a mention in the infobox as soon as we get one or more sources), the way those tracks are structured is not like that of "rap rock". 201.190.31.4 (talk) 06:44, 25 March 2015 (UTC)
It doesn't matter what we think fits or does not fit. It's a matter of citing sources. The current source is an interpretation, and according to the manual of standards, that's inappropriate. Andrzejbanas (talk) 23:53, 10 April 2015 (UTC)
Guys I quoted a SPIN review that says 'Jenny Death is an actual punk album' and it still gets undone. Mr Serious Guy (talk) 21:48, 11 April 2015 (UTC)
- It's quite obviously post-industrial hip hop. -Ashley Pomeroy (talk) 20:11, 25 October 2015 (UTC)
Punk Rock
editThe Powers That B really isn't a punk album just because spin said so. If i wrote for spin and called this a baroque pop album, would we put it on here? This album doesn't have the common stripped down punk lineup (bassist, guitarist, drummer, singer). It doesn't have the speed or raw simplicity of punk. It has electronic elements and rapping, things that aren't common in punk unless we're talking about synth punk. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 97.94.232.129 (talk) 18:04, 7 June 2015 (UTC) Youre simply wrong. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 75.143.145.30 (talk) 04:44, 10 June 2015 (UTC)
- Wikipedia can be stupid like that at times, taking one source's claim for genre as absolute truth and taking no editiorial consideration, as apparently that'd be being biased. Even if it results in certain pop songs that happen to have a guitar in them getting branded as "rock n' roll" just because a critic mentioned those words, even if they were obviously more allusive than a strict classification. 201.190.18.190 (talk) 18:42, 19 February 2016 (UTC)
