copyvio

edit

The bulk of the text here is a blatant copyvio, copied from an [http://www.amazon.com/Beginner-Bob-Walkenhorst/dp/B0000DBK01 editorial review at Amazon.com]. I'm going to strip it back to a stub. Xtifr tälk 06:48, 17 November 2006 (UTC)Reply

Ok, text replaced, the article's a stub now, but a fairly healthy stub, especially considering I knew nothing about the band, and was working only with sources I could find on-line. There's plenty of room for expansion. But at least the article is legal now! Xtifr tälk 08:05, 17 November 2006 (UTC)Reply

Sources

edit

At least three statements in this article are sourced from a fan user message forum. I looked into one of the claims (about Steven King) by searching for "Steven King" and just "King" in all the messages (subject and body) in all of the forums on the site but was unable to find the specific reference. I'm tempted to pull the reference and relist the statements as "citation needed."--P Todd 05:10, 6 December 2006 (UTC)Reply

Huh? Allmusic guide is not a "fan user message forum". (In fact, it doesn't even have a message forum.) It is, in fact, a widely cited and generally reliable source. (Not the best, but generally considered good enough for a first pass, which this is.) The other site, Amazon, does have a public review forum, but the only thing pulled from Amazon came from the Editorial Review section, not the public reviews section. Are you maybe having trouble following references properly? Here's where the Stephen King ref cam from if you want to double-check. It's currently ref#2--it sounds like you were looking at ref#1. Note that I don't know anything about this band. Never heard of them before I stumbled across this article and realized that it needed a rewrite-from-scratch. I made it a stub, but I don't see anything wrong with the sources I used. Nothing here comes from a message forum! Xtifr tälk 17:44, 6 December 2006 (UTC)Reply
Your right and it was my mistake. I looked at the second external reference (a message board) as opposed to the second reference. Thank you for your attention to my query.--P Todd 02:27, 8 December 2006 (UTC)Reply
Interestingly, I heard about The Rainmakers from the Stephen King novel The Tommyknockers. Historymike (talk) 02:46, 19 January 2008 (UTC)Reply
