AfC Source Analysis

edit

Hello! I am reviewing this draft for AfC and am unsure about what decision to make. Hence, I will write my comments below.

Source analysis
Source Independent? Significant? Reliable? Counts to GNG?
Uproxx Likely not No Yes No; seems like an advertisement.
Stereogum Likely not No Yes No; seems like an advertisement.
Colorlines No No Yes No. It is written off of press releases and is essientially an advertisement.
RNZ Likely Debatable Yes Maybe, but it also seems like an advert.
Gothamist Interviews don't count as independent sources Yes Yes Maybe.
The Root Yes Yes Yes Yes! This is perfect.
Slate Yes Yes Yes Yes, also a good source.
StNewsPress Yes Yes Maybe No. This is a duplicate of the Slate article.

As a whole, this article is very close, and may even have met the requirements. I will ask for a second opinion. In the meantime, @TipsyElephant:, if you have another source or two, I would appreciate that to make the decision easier. Toadspike (talk) 19:43, 4 April 2022 (UTC)Reply

@Toadspike: sorry I didn't realize the StNewsPress article and the Slate article were duplicates, I'll make sure to check my sources more thoroughly next time. How about this Andscape article which appears to be a website published by ESPN Enterprise. There is also this 2019 STE award which would contribute to notability per WP:WEBCRIT. Yep! That's perfect, I'll accept the draft now. No worries about the mistake. Toadspike (talk) 20:04, 4 April 2022 (UTC)Reply
Just make sure to add those sources. The award is especially worth mentioning. Toadspike (talk) 20:05, 4 April 2022 (UTC)Reply
@Toadspike: I found a better URL for the award here and I also found a short PBS video, but I'm unable to listen to it right now. Thank you for accepting the draft! TipsyElephant (talk) 20:07, 4 April 2022 (UTC)Reply
Great! Always glad to help whittle down the nasty backlog at AfC, especially when the draft is written by a competent and responsive editor like you. I unfortunately also have other commitments at the moment and will not be able to add the citations, but WP:NORUSH is also a thing, so no worries about that.
