Almost got tagged as a Hoax Article

edit

The content of this article comes across as a hoax article, and I nearly flagged it for deletion as such. Having investigated, I recognise The Revelers indeed are a genuine band, and are no doubt well-respected within their genre. But there is an awful lot wrong with this article that needs fixing.

  • Silly statements about visiting ghosts of dead musicians are unsupported by citations, and should be referenced or removed.
  • Other statements made in the article have citations but the target websites contain no content to support them.
  • The "Awards" section only mentions honours given to individuals outside of the band, and not to the band itself. This should be removed as not relevant, expanded with genuine awards, or the section renamed to refer to "Awards to band members".
  • The main image is clearly not The Revelers (who, we are told, formed in 2010), but shows many of its founder members in The Red Stick Ramblers, performing in 2008. The image should be re-titled or removed, and certainly should not be in the Infobox becasue it's the 'nearest fit'.

Wikipedia is meant to be an encyclopedia, supported by third-party evidence, not a place for light-hearted humour. Unsupported statements are liable to be removed. Parkywiki (talk) 22:03, 14 January 2017 (UTC)Reply
