This article fails WP:BAND and WP:RS. Thanks. Ecoleetage (talk) 03:21, 17 November 2008 (UTC)Reply

This band does meet the requirements of WP:BAND for a relevant band on Wikipedia (criteria number 1) since they have had an interview on national radio (CBC Radio One) which was in excess of 10 minutes. (on All In A Day, Nov 21, 2007 - see link in article to listen to interview.) and a second interview on CBC in 2006 that was about 6 minutes in length (again see links in article). They have also toured internationally and have played at the Ottawa International Blues Festival, a fairly prestigious honour for any up and coming band. —Preceding unsigned comment added by V1i2n3c4e5 (talkcontribs) 05:57, 17 November 2008 (UTC)Reply

And it now has sources deemed reliable from WP:RS

I politely disagree. One could argue that it doesn't meet WP:BAND, which requires that the band "has been the subject of multiple non-trivial published works" (bold and italics are mine). Having a pair of brief chats on the same radio network does not equal non-trivial coverage from multiple media outlets. Ecoleetage (talk) 13:39, 17 November 2008 (UTC)Reply

They have also had a fairly large amount of airtime (in excess of 30 minutes I believe) on CKCU, an Ottawa radio station. And getting 2 chats on CBC isn't something small, CBC is the largest radio network in Canada and up there with the largest in the world. —Preceding unsigned comment added by V1i2n3c4e5 (talkcontribs) 14:12, 17 November 2008 (UTC)Reply

CKCU is a college radio station (as identified in the article). And getting on CBC is not difficult -- I know people in the marketing world who routinely get their clients on CBC without any difficulty. Ecoleetage (talk) 14:45, 17 November 2008 (UTC)Reply

And they are big enough/good enough to play at the Ottawa Bluesfest in 2007, along with bands/acts such as Bob Dylan, Van Morrison, Kanye West, White Stripes, Manu Chao, Steve Miller, etc, etc. Already that should be enough merit. —Preceding unsigned comment added by V1i2n3c4e5 (talkcontribs) 17:06, 17 November 2008 (UTC)Reply

Can we keep the notability/deletion discussions within the AfD, as long as that may be in progress? Dl2000 (talk) 04:14, 19 November 2008 (UTC)Reply
