Talk:The Rootie Kazootie Club

One question that has plagued me since I was 6: Why was the villain Poison Zoomac on the show and Poison Zanzibar in the comic books? Was this some sort of insane censorship?

I noticed that too when I was a kid. I wish I had the answer :^) Gr8white (talk) 18:09, 15 December 2007 (UTC)Reply

Poison Zanziboo

edit

On one show, Todd Russell read a note left by Poison Zoomack saying that he had decided to reform and, as a token of his change of heart, had changed his name -- to "Poison Zanziboo"! (Zoomack, or Zanziboo, appeared later in the show alone and revealed that his "reform" was a sham.) Kostaki mou (talk) 23:21, 25 January 2008 (UTC)Reply

Interesting. The TVDays site mentions one episode where the villain is referred to as Poison "Sansa Boo" [1], don't know if that's the same episode you're referring to or not.

My guess is there's nothing sinister, someone associated with RK just liked Zanzaboo. Gr8white (talk) 07:12, 28 January 2008 (UTC)Reply

Inappropriate Insertion

An anonymous IP user inserted the following paragraph into the article. While I don't doubt the good intentions a Wikipedia article isn't the place for this sort of commentary. Gr8white (talk) 17:58, 19 March 2009 (UTC)Reply

Naomi Lewis, the voice of Rootie Kazootie and Polka Dottie, is dead. Am in shock after finding it out. Had just found out that she was living in Manhattan (New York City) and was going to ask if she would give an interivew. Had called back to get the information and was informed that that very week she had died. There was some kind of flooding in the apartment building, and when she stepped outiside she slipped and fell. Was taken away to the hospital and died. Am so sorry. There was no obituary I could find. You would think at least the new York Times would have had something. To this that this marvelously talented person died anonymously. May she rest in peace. Name Change

edit

According to Howdy Doody historian Stephen King (Say Kids! What Time is It? Notes From the Peanut Gallery [Boston: Little, Brown, 1987]), the name was changed from Rootie Tootie because the producers of Howdy Doody objected to the similarity of the original name to that of their own character.76.195.223.186 (talk) 05:14, 18 March 2011 (UTC)Reply
