Fair Use

edit

It looks like we have almost all of the lyrics in the main page now. This might be going a bit beyond fair use, would someone with more knowledge please comment? —dcclark (talk) 23:11, 3 September 2005 (UTC)Reply

I wouldn't hold it to that. Somebody misquoted the line which should state "some Gungans died" - I think someone needs to work on this article while actually listening to the song. -- MasterXiam 12:02, 2 February 2006 (UTC)Reply

I think it's fair enough to have all the lyrics, if they are publicy available on youtube to listen too, how is it in breach of copyright to type them into wiki?Gigaflynn (talk) 22:16, 13 January 2008 (GMT)

Actually the youtube video is also violating copyright unless Al or a representative uploaded it. Gdo01 (talk) 22:22, 13 January 2008 (UTC)Reply

Vader?

edit

In the video, I think I saw Darth Vader in the background. Is this true? -- Bobman123 23:54, 21 February 2006 (UTC)Reply

I have absolutely no idea. If you can post a link and time you think you saw it, I may be able to answer. ThePRoGaMErGD (talk) 22:08, 1 May 2019 (UTC)Reply

I've removed someone's personal website as a violation of WP:EL (self-promotion and advertising) and am considering instead a link to http://www.alsongs.com. Thoughts? RadioKirk (u|t|c) 17:56, 10 July 2006 (UTC)Reply

Trivia section

edit

Per WP:AVTRIV, please rewrite this article's "trivia" section into prose, using only the data that survives notability and reliability standards. Thanks. :) RadioKirk (u|t|c) 01:48, 10 December 2006 (UTC)Reply

McLean and the lyrics

edit

As I note in the edit summary, I cannot find any evidence that McLean has ever said publicly that he's accidentally (or otherwise, for that matter) sung Yankovic's lyrics in performance. The Chicago Tribune couldn't (or didn't) confirm it in 1999, while the parody is mentioned only in passing in two more recent pieces. If anyone can find something more solid, it should be added. 🖖ATinySliver/ATalkPage 04:40, 17 March 2016 (UTC)Reply
