Requested move

• There have been countless people describable as seafarers, and the film The Seafarers. We need to state in the link name specifically that the poem is meant. Anthony Appleyard 10:54, 13 October 2007 (UTC)

Alliteration

I am completely puzzled by the suggestion that Ezra Pound's version of The Seafarer differs from the original in that he uses frequent alliteration, as the original is an obviously alliterative text in the Anglo Saxon style. If anything, Pound's use of alliteration is much less frequent, inconsistent, and whimsical. Gaylegoh (talk) 20:17, 22 October 2008 (UTC)

"Much less frequent": this seems to me to be an aspect of "differ[ing] from the original". Also, the alliteration in the original is quite regular, in that it follows Anglo-Saxon poetic alliterative patterns (of which there are several—see Sievers. --Akhenaten0 (talk) 14:35, 13 March 2012 (UTC)

Rewrite and restructure

The whole introduction written by Newsailormon is much too long for an introduction, and needs, if possible, much better structure--move all that down to the "Criticism" section and perhaps break up that section a little bit.
