  • ... that through a retelling of a tale from the ancient Huainanzi, Chinese philosophy is referenced in the Bluey special "The Sign"? Source: Glassman, Julia (2024-04-16). "How Bluey's 'The Sign' Uses an Ancient Parable to Tell a Wonderfully Complex Story". The Mary Sue. Retrieved 2024-04-21.

    • Comment: By far my finest hour at AFC yet. The buzz and anticipation (and spoilers!) at r/Bluey on the eve of its U.S. release (the evening before, more like) compelled me to give this a shot at you-know-where--well after its original ABC airing, and mere minutes after its Disney+ bow; helps that I, an occasional but devoted viewer of the Heelers and company, actually watched along with my niece (via tablet) on that very day. It's not every season--or series (in that case)--you get to see WP coverage of an animated kidvid episode outside Nicktoons, Cartoon Network, and occasional in-house-Disney territory. (I speak from previous experience, as my early-era attempts at Care Bears episode articles ultimately went nowhere; such has been the fate of many recaps devoted to older shows in that demographic.)
Not to mention TV Tropes and Know Your Meme had their own pages on this topic while ours was in dance draft mode!
By the way, an episode like "The Sign" actually speaks volumes to yours truly, a former Connecticut resident (and animation lover--and immigrant from the Commonwealth of Dominica) who had to move to Central Florida seven years ago on account of his male superior's job change. (Shared that same memory to the niece.)
Many thanks to the others who helped me along the way this past week:
May we meet each other again in the next few months en route to my long-coveted Four Award--for real life (which I originally planned to reserve for Ain't Burned All the Bright last August). No matter what happens next--good or bad...

General: Article is new enough and long enough
Policy: Article is sourced, neutral, and free of copyright problems

Hook eligibility:

  • Cited:
  • Interesting:
QPQ: Done.

Overall:   Not sure what the comments above about the link meant. Not thrilled with the hook. It's somewhat wordy. Also, the word Huainanzi is not in the article. Can we get some ALTs? --evrik (talk) 18:46, 8 May 2024 (UTC)Reply

Just restored the Huainanzi part. I'll determine what'll pass for an ALT any hour from now. --Slgrandson (How's my egg-throwing coleslaw?) 19:47, 13 May 2024 (UTC)Reply
@SIgrandson: ALT1 and ALT3 both check out, however I cannot approve ALT2 as the source does not say "2020" and this fact needs a source. I also don't find ALT0a interesting. Please source "2020".--Launchballer 01:18, 17 May 2024 (UTC)Reply

Image candidate for the infobox

edit

Which of these images would make for the best option to put in the article's infobox, to represent the episode overall?

Why does this episode get a page but none of the other episodes get one?

edit

I am posting a similar thing to this on Bandit Heeler.

Yes, I know. This is the 28-minute special and stuff. But why do you bother to include the episode chronology on the page if they won't link to anything? Just link the list of Bluey episodes! Additionally, on Bandit's page, the first appearance is listed as the episode "Magic Xylophone", which links to the list of Bluey episodes. If they're going to make a page for this episode, make a page for every episode. Or don't make a page for the episodes at all. HansTheExplorer (talk) 15:10, 13 June 2024 (UTC)Reply

To answer your topic question: Understandably, it's partly due to WP:NEPISODE, and partly due to the anticipation and promotion that built up in the days before its broadcast. The vast majority of television episodes (especially those from the world of animated kidvid) do not qualify for inclusion on WP unless they have been covered--individually and independently of their parent series--in considerable depth. However, another article--on Series 3 stalwart, "Cricket"--is on the horizon. (As will "Sleepytime" once I or another fan gets to it.) For the rest of the story, Fandom already has you covered.
As for the infobox linkage, I'll see to it in the next how many hours (thanks to your tip). --Slgrandson (How's my egg-throwing coleslaw?) 18:06, 21 June 2024 (UTC)Reply
Dad doesn't allow Fandom, which obviously means the only page for an episode I'd get is for The Sign. If you're going to add an episode chronology for this, make pages for Ghostbasket and Surprise!. Then you'd have to add Cricket, then Slide, then...(insert montage of me mentioning every other episode)
