Brady Bunch reference?
editShouldn't there be some kinda mention how the show spoofs the swapping in of a different family member actress (the "new" Lisa on the Smile Time Variety Hour) just like the Brady Bunch did? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 98.176.37.4 (talk) 06:42, 14 October 2009 (UTC)
Alternate Ending Trivia
editIn the Trivia section, someone erroneously represented the alternate ending to the episode "Who Shot Mr. Burns," as having been written and animated to keep the show's staff from knowing the true outcome of the second parter. However, its pretty obvious when watching the "alternate" ending that the whole setup was a joke, a parody of big budget films that practice filming alternate takes to avoid the onslaught of internet rumours. I doubt they would have fully animated a scene that couldn't have possibly worked its way into the plot (a point that Troy McClure even brings up). The point is, take it out.
- I agree, they make it clear the endings are fake. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 65.192.41.10 (talk) 20:53, 13 February 2007 (UTC).
Couch gag montage
editThe "couch gag" side panel states that the montage is from 12 previous episodes, but only 11 are listed under the "Couch gag montage" heading. When I just saw this episode I saw the Simpsons running towards the couch which recedes into the wall and continues into a long corridor. I have assumed that this is a homage to the movie "Time Bandits". I could not say exactly where it came in order, and I do not have a recording... —Preceding unsigned comment added by 130.237.161.96 (talk) 14:24, August 29, 2007 (UTC)
Quotes
editThose quotes aren't entirely accurate. The episode's on TV now, and they don't match up. I'll look at and begin to edit them tomorrow, but does someone want to start on it? --MPD01605 (T / C) 23:55, 14 September 2006 (UTC)
In particular, the amount on the cash register reads "NRA4EVR," but that isn't the full quote. 71.230.144.105 23:59, 24 January 2007 (UTC)
Test Audience for a Animated Series?
editIn the trivia section, there mention that deleted scene involving a richard simmons robot was removed because it fared poorly with a test audience. Since when does a animated series use a test audience?--Kevin586 16:21, 19 July 2007 (UTC)
- Maybe that means they let their idiot kid watch it, like Kent Brockman did with his daughter.
I recall that Matt Groening,in an earlier DVD commentary, stated it was removed because the writing/production staff did not get many laughs before it aired, but when he showed it to college tours it got a great reaction from them.24.73.232.50 (talk) 20:50, 11 February 2008 (UTC)
Outtakes
editA lot of these weren't actually cut from the episodes, they are currently included in syndicated versions of the episodes. Several more weren't cut at the time this episode was aired, but were cut later on. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 75.72.21.221 (talk) 23:54, August 22, 2007 (UTC)
- Can you find a source for this? Because I've seen several of the episodes on various different stations (CBC, Global, Fox) and I've never seen one of the deleted scenes included. -- Scorpion0422 00:03, 23 August 2007 (UTC)
Fair use rationale for Image:Simpsons good night.jpg
editImage:Simpsons good night.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.
Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation can be deleted one week after being tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

Springfield Location
editDoesn't Troy mention the state Springfield is located in with different states listed in various replays? I know that I have seen an episode where Troy specifically says a state for Springfield but then in syndication he says a different one. Or maybe I have just gone crazy. If I haven't though isn't this worth a mention? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 68.153.29.23 (talk) 17:16, 29 June 2009 (UTC)
- This is in "Behind the Laughter". -- ianiceboy (talk) 02:46, 15 February 2010 (UTC)
Pound Foolish
editWhat is the source that this was David Silverman? The audio commentary does NOT say who Pound Foolish is. Jon Vitti admits that he was Penny Wise, but says that "maybe" Pound Foolish will reveal his identity on another commentary. That is the only mention as to who it is. Shooting Mr Burns
editWhen I saw the segment with the different characters shooting Mr. Burns I was immediately reminded of a gag reel from Dallas that aired in the late 1970s that basically did the same thing, showing alternate takes from the "Who shot JR" reveal with different characters from the series shown pulling the trigger - ending with, as a joke, JR himself. Is there anything out there that suggests the gag reel inspired the Mr. Burns montage? 68.146.70.124 (talk) 13:42, 5 October 2013 (UTC)
