Wrong company infos !
editMaxis is dead since they are in EA, since 2007 the Maxis logo was removed from The Sims franchise ! It's no longer Maxis but it's EA Games only. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 193.52.208.241 (talk) 13:10, 17 April 2008 (UTC)
Billiards
editPool's been in the game since university. By "billiards", is it meant that they're adding a new action to the pool table, a new game, or what? Any info on that yet?Umlautbob 06:24, 18 October 2006 (UTC)
- The original person who made the page made a mistake,
they flyer says pool not billiards, pool games, like a swiming pool game games. This means Sims will now be able to play game in their pool such as marco polo. I edited the page and fixes errors.Thsms204 12:10, 22 October 2006 (UTC)
Too much info presented as "fact"
editUm, excuse me, but where is all the info on "features" and "gameplay" and "trivia" coming from? Isn't this still an "expected" product (that is, it hasn't been released yet)? The only thing we can say at this point is what is "expected." The first point in the Trivia can stay, as long as it is cited. As for everything else, all we can say that these things are expected or projected. We can't present as "fact" what is in a product that hasn't even been released yet. — Frecklefoot | Talk 16:10, 8 December 2006 (UTC)
- None of the information is found on the offical site from what I can see, and the link under References is a fan site and wouldn't fall under reliable sources. Apparently, however, some people from selected fan sites were invited by Maxis to preview the game.[1] --Mig (Talk) 16:37, 8 December 2006 (UTC)
Well, previews don't count. Would you rely on a review of demo of Diablo III as a reliable review of the game? Those observations should be clearly marked as impressions from a preview and not of the final product—which hasn't even been released yet! — Frecklefoot | Talk 17:02, 8 December 2006 (UTC)
Weather Disasters
editMany debates take place about extreme weather such as floods, blizzards, tornados, etc. taking place in TS2:S. But are they going to happen? Most say it won't, however most want it too. Rumors say that the disasters would change gameplay in more ways than one. Others find it fun to be in a "state of emergency". How about your opinion? Will developers put it in? Can someone find an official statement? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 71.109.193.80 (talk • contribs)
- Opinion polls of this nature are not appropriate topics for a Wikipedia talk page. If there is an official statement regarding this, it would be appropriate to include a reference to it in the article. However, wish list items shouldn't be inlcluded. — Frecklefoot | Talk 21:08, 11 December 2006 (UTC)
- Yes, wrong place but I'll jsut say that I doubt that the above things would be included because they are strong enough to destroy houses and houses in TS2 cannot be destroyed making the things seem very weak and unnecessary.
Release date
editon the main page of the Seasons wiki, there are two release dates, one stating a release in Europe for Feb 23 (or there abouts) and another for a release in the EU as March 2nd. im wondering if this is just an error, and should be fixed or if (and this is comming from an American) if all is as it's ment to be with the two different release dates... Osmo250 20:42, 25 January 2007 (UTC)
- The only source that I've found for that is the press release in the reference section which states February 23rd, unless a new source is provided that is the release date we have to go with.--Crossmr 17:28, 18 February 2007 (UTC)
- Okay, that being said...do you think we should do anything to change the dates? because it is so close to the release date(s), im just wondering if we should leave it... Osmo250 04:23, 25 February 2007 (UTC)
- If someone could provide a source that'd be great, or something reliable stating whether or not the product has been released. Its been released in switzerland, so the game is out in some place(s).--Crossmr 04:49, 25 February 2007 (UTC)

- I am from Germany and in our contry the game relases on March 2 2nd. In Switzerland the game relaeses one week before it releases in Germany. But when it releases in the rest of the Europien Uniun I cannot tell you, because I do not know.--217.230.103.35 19:18, 22 February 2007 (UTC)
Game Guide
editThis isn't a game guide. That level of detail about the juice and weather isn't appropriate to this article. There is a wiki site associated with wikipedia that handles game guides with that level of detail if you want to write about it there.--Crossmr 16:05, 4 March 2007 (UTC)
- There is also a template, Template:wikibooks for this very purpose. I'm going to transwiki the game-guide material to there and put the template in the article. If you wish to add material of a game guide nature, please add it to the wikibooks article.--Crossmr 21:05, 4 March 2007 (UTC)
Careers and college?
editdo the sims have to go to colledge for any of the new career paths as they did in other expansions? Add this info. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Lab16 (talk • contribs) 22:20, 17 March 2007 (UTC).
- No they don't include content dependent on what was in previous EPs unless they include the functionality from that EP.--Crossmr 16:26, 18 March 2007 (UTC)
NEW SIMS EXPANSION PACK
editis the new pack called Spellbound? I saw spellbound for a short time in the links section but it didnt have a page. -Darkside2000
- It was probably erroneous or unsourced information. EA's official The Sims page should have announcements of the latest expansions. BTW, the correct way to sign your posts is with 4 tildes (~~~~). Name, date and time are all inserted automagically. — Frecklefoot | Talk 14:33, 10 May 2007 (UTC)

- Comment: I think I land at liking ALT2/ALT2a most, but I'm not sure if it's a recognizable enough juxtaposition (the ideas aren't especially mainstream). On the other hand, "mainstream video game analysed through little-known academic lens" is a juxtaposition in itself.

- Hey! Great work with the article 🙂. Converted from redir around time of nom, sources are all reliable, prose is solid, long enough, no copyvio on content or images. QPQ done. Hooks are all interesting. I agree with your takes on the choices. Although I think while ALT2/ALT2a is not a mainstream idea, you're still representing it accurately enough. I think the fact that someone has even published that kind of analysis is interesting in itself, so I think it's fine as a DYK. I lean towards ALT2a but can defer to your preference. No compelling reason for my choice, "studied" just sounds more academic and intense which makes it sound funnier toobigtokale (talk) 02:03, 9 October 2023 (UTC)
