Talk:The Snakestretchers

I came across a link to Roy Buchanan and Danny Gatton who both I have recorded and played with for decades. I clicked the link "Snakestretchers" and there was no copy there - there was a request for info so I provided it. The name had nothing to do with "vagaries" - it is exactly as I stated, silly but interesting. I was the main recording drummer for the Paramount Artists management group in Washington DC and cut all tracks for the Chartbusters and even some cuts for the British Walkers, recorded with Danny and did one session with Roy.

Out of all the principles involved in the "Snakestretchers" issue there are only three left alive. Dick Heintze died of Lou Gerigs' disease, Roy hung himself in Florida and Danny shot himself. That leaves me (Michael "Pokey" Walls), Chuck Tilley and Pete VanAllen - the bass player Danny Gatton was supposed to replace. You can't get any more accurate an account than from someone who was there. Check my references or give Billy Hancock a holler billyhancock@msn.com - he's listed on many album projects with Danny Gatton - Fat Boys and otherwise. We all knew each other - Danny, Roy, Billy, "Peaches", Dimitri, etc.
