As to not edge any closer toward edit war territory, I'm taking this query here. Pillowdelight, the only thing I see regarding this is in Template:Infobox_album#label where it says "Only the record label that the album was originally released on should be specified." "Originally" in this case is referring to release date, not nationality, and from everything I've seen the release was day-and-date simultaneous in all territories. Hello, @QuietHere: The way that I understood it as the album was originally released on Epiphany & Thirty Tigers, RCA is merely just a subsidiary label for Europes release. I rarely come across this as most users follow that if it’s being released by multiple labels specifically in different countries that a ‘Release history’ box would make more sense to include RCA — not in the Infobox. "Epiphany Music" is a copyright holder for her recordings, not a label. [responding to ping] The idea behind the infobox album parameters is that only details about the original release should be included. If the album is released simultaneously throughout the world on different labels, the artist's home country record label should be the only one used. The image details are difficult to see, but the release that doesn't give an address or country shows "P & C 2022 Epiphany Music. Marketed and distributed by Thirty Tigers/The Orchard."[3] "P & C" refers to the copyright holder and not necessarily the record label, while "Marketed and distributed by" refers to the label(s). For the release that has unreadable fine print (that might include "United Kingdom"), it shows "RCA Sony Music".[4] OCC lists "RCA"[5] as does Uncut[6], which are both UK based. So, without more info, it can't be said that the Canadian/US release is on Thirty Tigers/The Orchard, but it appears that it isn't the one that shows RCA Sony. The label situation has had countless discussions and it is my opinion that we should include the label of the country of origin and if the label is different in every country (eg. Enya releases - WEA or Warner Music UK (origin) and Reprise Records (US). Some artists have different labels worldwide, sometimes in the past these have been from two separate parent music groups. I think including this gives clarity to the viewers and this can also be emphasised more in the releases section with date/format/label (although some of these can be inaccurate with users using distribution labels, not the actual labels on the physical releases) jwad.... ^{blah | blah | blah} 13:07, 19 May 2023 (UTC)

Its my experience (having edited for over a decade) that the label that should appear in the infobox is the main one (original release) as in the label the artist is actually signed to. Labels are complex, but in most cases they refer to the legal body owning the rights to the album. sometimes that's the artist's company or own label, followed by the key distributor. According to the album's backcover the copy right belongs to Epiphany Music and that's the first label that the release mentions. It specifically says the release was marketed and distributed by Thirty Tigers and The Orchard. Having a look at what Thirty Tigers actually do for Alanis Morissette, they're her management and they do her marketing. The Orchard provide distribution, while Epiphany provide label services and are through RCA. Marketing and Distribution are parts of a record label's operations traditionally so I do think including Epiphany, Thirty Tigers, The Orchard in the infobox would be correct as together its the three of them that own the copyright and peform the label functions. Epiphany is a trading name/subsidiary of RCA from what I can tell which is why in some markets and on some platforms, the album is listed simply under RCA >> Lil-unique1 (talk) — 19:49, 21 October 2023 (UTC)
