Restoration markings?

edit

Anyone knows what markings are the museum going to restore on The Swoose? I hope they restore the pre-war roundels and stripes while serving in the Philippines back in 1941 as I don't think any existing B-17 today possess pre-war markings. Wolcott (talk) 18:10, 23 January 2010 (UTC)Reply

I would guess that it will depend on how they restore it - with an E birdcage nose, or the later F plexi that it carried as a command transport - that will determine which markings are appropriate. I agree with you, it would be nice to have at least one pre-war marked Fortress. I have no personal knowledge of the NMUSAF plans, however. Just to add, I think any information regarding the B-17's restoration markings could help clarify the 'Move to Dayton' section. Wolcott (talk) 19:11, 2 December 2010 (UTC)Reply
