editIt seems from "The Letters of D. H. Lawrence" that he suggested "The White Peacock" as one of several possible titles in a letter to Frederick Atkinson of 14 June 1910, and _maybe_ had decided on it- maybe not?- by the time of a letter to the same by 24 June 1910 ("As for titles, I am no good at them. ...
