Oh come on, this album is so forward-thinking. Sometimes I wonder "what if the Beastie Boys recorded their early work like this?", hip-hop might have sounded quite different. sure, it wasn't a very influential album, but I have never heard anything (except the krautrock that inspired it) that was so latent. There's so much to say about this album, its shots at pop culture, etc. Someone pull out their copy of "confusion is next"!! (i've lost mine). Also, imagine if this album met with critical acclaim, might SY have done things differently? I'd especially love to see quote-mining about this album by the artists...

Agree with you that the Whitey Album is an outstanding Work of its period with sketches of yet to come music directions like Big Beat (Macbeth) or Trip Hop (G-Force). But then again, our opinions don´t belong in an encyclopaedic article. 195.46.247.209 (talk) 17:27, 10 December 2008 (UTC)

Silence

Changing the tracklisting so that the second track is listed as "(Silence)". That is how it's listed on the sleeve. I have the 1988 Blast First vinyl release, and the 1995 DGC CD reissue. On both, the track is listed as "(Silence)" and not "Untitled," not does it have a blank spot in the tracklist. Leamanc (talk) 03:42, 27 April 2009 (UTC)
