editThe name of the school really is "The Woodlands High School" - it is the high school for the City of "The Woodlands". -- BD2412 talk 23:33, 2005 May 30 (UTC)
- Please note that The Woodlands is not a city. It is master-planned community with its own mailing address. A place or area with its own mailing address does not mean it is a city. The community is located within the city of Houston's extraterritorial jurisdiction. UH Collegian 06:23, 23 July 2005 (UTC)
- Actually, The Woodlands is an unincorporated area mostly in Montgomery County, which doesn't include Houston. It has expanded a little bit into Harris County. It is a Census-designated place and an acceptable city name. Idbeholda (talk) 20:59, 8 February 2008 (UTC)
There's a high school of that name in Hartsdale, NY!
editHow come there's no mention of it? SalJyDieBoereKomLei 13:28, 10 April 2007 (UTC)
History
editJ.L. McCullough High School is not mentioned, but was the predecessor to The Woodlands High School. Its facilities are now part of McCullough Junior High School. This history should be mentioned, or a J.L. McCullough High School article written, but I don't have the time to write a good one. Idbeholda (talk) 20:59, 8 February 2008 (UTC)

agree McCullough High School/Junior High School should be separate article. I graduated from McCullough, not the Woodlands High. It was a separate high school for 20 years.

Major Revision
editHave rewritten much of article for clarity and to remove non-neutral items. Aded an infobox along with state titles. Still have areas that need better referencing. Indyjrg1762 (talk) 06:29, 6 June 2010 (UTC)

Lone Star Award
editI removed mention of a Lone Star Award as part of this [1]. It may be worth including but I could not verify it or determine if it was a school award or just an individual award. The external link is dead and I have not been able to find the material on the site. Meters (talk) 20:02, 5 December 2016 (UTC)
Ameer Vann
editHe went here, please stop removing him. Here's him graduating https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p-FFHRMfASA. Here's an article where he talks about how he and Kevin Abstract met in high school: http://www.thefader.com/2017/07/13/brockhampton-members-kevin-abstract-interview-saturation. Here's a video from the documentary about Kevin and Ameer that shows them at the woodlands talking about how they met each other: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bV6RqSBxN0I. Dogfredify (talk) 02:37, 9 January 2018 (UTC)
- Although his attendance is relevant, and your reference from the Fader adequately verifies that (the YouTube videos do not, as they are not considered reliable sources), that isn't the issue. This is the issue, Dogfredify:
- To be included in a notable alumni list, a person has to have attended the school, and they have to meet Wikipedia's definition of notability. That is best shown by linking to the biographical article on the person. The person in question here does not have one. Simply being a member of a notable group does not make the individual notable. You'll need to write his biography first.
- You cannot add anything on Wikipedia anywhere that concerns a living person without providing references to reliable published sources.
- Hope that clears this up. John from Idegon (talk) 03:46, 9 January 2018 (UTC)
Lone Star Cup
editWhy exactly is it not being included on the page? A previous editor mentioned how it’s not major, but I heavily disagree with that claim. It’s run by UIL, the same organization that puts on the high school athletic events. Why are titles for the Lone Star Cup not included while other UIL championships are included? Also, other schools that have won the cup have it listed under their page. It makes zero sense to not include it on this page as well. 166.198.198.120 (talk) 15:11, 22 March 2023 (UTC)
- If you are referring to the edit by user:Haydoggy [2]:
- If you are the same editor you are evading your block, again.
- We don't list lower level finishes, such as runners up.
- The UIL Cup claim is not reliably sourced. Wikipedia is not a a reliable source. As user:Drmies wrote: "Cite the source, please--a proper secondary source" Meters (talk) 18:15, 22 March 2023 (UTC)
- 1. Don’t know what you’re referring to.
- 2. I didn’t mention anything about runner ups. I’m talking about the school’s first place finishes.
- 3. Then find another source. It takes 10 seconds. The person you were arguing with clearly doesn’t know what he/she is doing when it comes to sourcing. On the other hand, you are a veteran at Wikipedia editing. Make it easy and do a quick Google search. If you don’t want to do it, that’s fine. Just let me know and I’ll do it. 166.198.198.120 (talk) 16:06, 23 March 2023 (UTC)
- Despite your edit summary claiming that you have provided "proper sourcing" the cited source does not list the previous winning years, just that the 2020–21 win was the eight win. I have trimmed the material accordingly. Meters (talk) 06:33, 26 March 2023 (UTC)
