Please remove Rhydian Roberts’ name from this sentence under the paragraph entitled ‘Novelty Acts’

Some of the popular 'joke acts' to appear on the show include Rhydian Roberts, Johnny Robinson, Rylan Clark, Diva Fever, Chico Slimani, Wagner, Stevi Ritchie, Honey G and Jedward.[22]

Rhydian is a classically trained crossover artist who to date has released several albums, including a No 1 in the classical charts. He was never a “joke act”. [1] 86.152.106.132 (talk) 10:14, 2 November 2017 (UTC)Reply

Not done: Roberts is specifically listed as a "novelty act" in the source provided with that sentence. I have instead changed "joke acts" to "novelty acts" in line with the source. —KuyaBriBriTalk 14:40, 2 November 2017 (UTC)Reply

Judges Table - last row needs sorted, and table needs closed properly. Whoever tried to add the last row of judges has messed it up (the entire article after this point is in the last column).

Rhydian Roberts as a "novelty act"

edit

I appreciate a source is given justifying his inclusion in this category, but nonetheless it seems strange to describe Rhydian Roberts as a "novelty act". He had been considered the favourite to win the competition since as early as Week 3 of the live shows (https://metro.co.uk/2007/11/05/rhydian-favourite-to-win-x-factor-474054/), finished as runner-up, and Wikipedia's own article on Season 4 explicitly mentions it was considered a shock that he did not win. Nor was he particularly treated as a novelty act by the judges, who regularly praised his performances (for example - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=09j0-d5Uf4w - apologies for the lack of a better or more comprehensive source!) — Preceding unsigned comment added by JFVarlet (talkcontribs) 21:25, 3 April 2020 (UTC)Reply

italics

edit

Why is this sentence in italics? ¨By 2017, ratings for the programme were effectively worse off, with the The X Factor achieving low average viewing figures of less than seven million viewers, effectively placing its future in doubt after the fifteenth series, and leading to its eventual cancellation.[7]¨ Is it a typo, or is it supposed to be a quotation? If the latter, then standard practice is to use quotation marks rather than italcs. kdammers 28 August 2021

Ben Elton´s novel ´´Chart Throb´´ refers to this show throughout and is apparently a spoof of it. kdammers 28 August 2021

Rita Ora doesn't have a link to her Wikipedia page in the Judges and Presenters section en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rita_Ora Tech0308 (talk) 15:09, 22 November 2021 (UTC)Reply

Not done: It is already linked in multiple parts of the article. We don't link every instance, at most it's just once in the lead, once in the infobox, and the first use in the article body. ScottishFinnishRadish (talk) 15:17, 22 November 2021 (UTC)Reply

Change "all" to "most"

"All episodes were presented by Dermot O'Leary, with some exceptions"

If there are exceptions then it should say "Most" not "All". David G (talk) 08:15, 4 September 2022 (UTC)Reply

The X Factor isn't on TV anymore so it should be replaced with "The X Factor was" instead of "The X Factor is". 2A02:C7C:8E4C:4A00:1455:65F9:82ED:A662 (talk) 21:28, 25 February 2024 (UTC)Reply
