Regarding the last addition to the article, in its introductory section, can the author provide any support for his or her assertion? Although The Yacoubian Building is indeed a roman à clef, how can depictions of fictional characters be considered "inaccurate"? Surely this violates Wikipedia's neutrality rule?

Muslim Brothers

edit

The articles states that Taha's organization is modeled upon the Muslim Brothers. I disagree because I don't think that the military organization described in the novel is close to the activities of Muslim Brotherhood. In the 90's and now, the MB seem to be more into political activism than violent terrorism. I think the novel's organization is closer to more violent groups like Jamaa Islamya or Jihad, which were mainly responsible of the terror of the 90's. By the way, the camp's chief talks about his organization as the "Jamaa". Jamaa is a word meaning something like community or unity. But this could be an element to think that the described organization is actually the Jamaa Islamya. Depending on your reactions, i may either delete the reference to MB or replace it by Jamaa Islamya. 82.201.168.13 17:24, 1 May 2006 (UTC)Reply
