Proposed merger with Tacoma: 2010 May 2
editMerging into larger article
Since the Thea Foss Waterway is part of Commencement Bay, and Commencement Bay has its own wiki entry, I suggest that this be merged into the Commencement Bay Wiki page.
- I think there may well be enough to say about the Thea Foss Waterway to merit an article of its own, but very little is here right now. As it stands, this is a near-ad for current development, not a history of a body of water that has been important for over a century. - Jmabel | Talk 17:03, 2 May 2010 (UTC)
Merger proposal: 2012 November 22
editI propose that Thea Foss Waterway be merged into Tacoma, Washington. I think that the content in the Thea Foss Waterway article can easily be explained in the context of Tacoma, Washington, and the Tacoma, Washington article is of a reasonable size in which the merging of Thea Foss will not cause any problems as far as article size or undue weight is concerned. It'd be better served if its merged into the Commencement Bay article. I believe that there is material out there to expand this article so that it becomes more worthy of having its own page. 67.137.68.210 (talk) 15:23, 22 November 2012 (UTC)
No to Merger. The T F waterway is a distinct part of the shoreline of Tacoma. Immediately adjacent to the Train Station and glass museum. Not only the tidal transition between shore and sea, it has the history of the foundation of Foss Tug. All that is neededm in the page is more history and photos of t he tugs, sawmills, docks, and grainery mill that stands there. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 174.7.23.169 (talk) 15:29, 24 November 2011 (UTC)
