Rating
editI've rated this article as "A" class as I can't see much more that can be done to it, short of adding an image. Verisimilus T 21:58, 6 April 2008 (UTC)
- That is very generous, isn't there a more formal process for awarding an A class? I would expect that without pictures it may scrape a B class. Maybe a timeline and some diagrams would then allow it to get a GA rating as well. That would convince me more that it deserved that "A". Graeme Bartlett (talk) 00:33, 30 July 2008 (UTC)
- The article is only about 250 words long, and while it is unlikely that this article will ever be very long, I would only rate it at present as 'start class'. -- Donald Albury 12:19, 1 August 2008 (UTC)
- The "A" reflects the fact that there's nothing that can be done to improve the article, short though it may be. There simply aren't the sources to provide facts.
- Is it worth worrying about what letter appears on the talk page of an article that's viewed about twice a day?

- I'll just point you to the suggested procedure for assigning "A" class at Wikipedia:Version 1.0 Editorial Team/Assessment/A-Class criteria. -- Donald Albury 17:37, 2 August 2008 (UTC)
- I would be very excited to see an article that I started get a deserved A rating, however in this case it does not meet the standard as pointed out by Donald. Although the text is complete enough we still need to improve the appearance with a picture or two. If Martin can get a couple of others to support an A rating then the formal procedure may be satisfied. The article rating is important because an A rating would almost certainly get it as an inclusion on a CD of the encyclopedia. Perhaps we need a DYK to raise the hit count a bit. It is disappointing to see that an article I created on a dance crew is 1000 times as popular! Graeme Bartlett (talk) 04:29, 4 August 2008 (UTC)
- Unless we can expand the article more than 5 times within a five-day period, DYK is out. I also regret the pop culture thing, but I don't know what we can do about it. -- Donald Albury 14:04, 4 August 2008 (UTC)
Decayed remains of Petalonamids?
edit"(Thectardis) Specimens illustrating the decay spectrum of Ediacaran fronds and the Thectardis end member. Thectardis is a highly effaced remnant of some frondose Ediacaran organism representing a stage of extreme decay, where nearly all body morphology is gone and all that remains are microbial mats veiling the smoothed carcass." from figure 6 at https://www.researchgate.net/publication/282490761_A_New_Ecological_Model_for_the_565Ma_Ediacaran_Biota_of_Mistaken_Point_Newfoundland Rugoconites Tenuirugosus (talk) 20:43, 2 February 2023 (UTC)
Size?
editIt would be good to have some indication of the range of sizes of these organisms
