Evangelical reference?
edit"As one would find consistent with his Evangelical breakthrough"
Is this applying contemporary labels onto Luther when such a phrase and/or construct likely didn't even exist in his day? As in, Lutheran theology actually came from a pre-existing Evangelical theology? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 216.165.190.4 (talk) 12:35, 9 August 2010 (UTC)

Eucharistic theology
editIt would seem that the definition of the eucharist as a sacrifice of Christ would imply semantic links with the theology of the cross. There is information on this in the article eucharistic theology. 69.157.229.14 (talk) 02:23, 22 December 2008 (UTC)=
Catholic
editHow come theology of the cross is about Martin Luther and Lutheranism and does not represent Catholic theology ? Is it not a main aspect of Catholicism? Alan347 (talk) 11:34, 28 February 2013 (UTC)
- Theology of the Cross is not Theology ABOUT the Cross... it is a way of doing theology that is antithetical to Catholic theology (Theology of Glory) and was one of the main disagreements between Luther and Rome. See http://www.christianpost.com/news/theology-of-glory-vs-theology-of-the-cross-78119/ for a more detailed treatment. ReformedArsenal (talk) 14:44, 28 February 2013 (UTC)
- Theology of the cross is a main understanding of Pauline Literature and the Gospel itself in the Catholic Tradition. Perhaps this will be of interest to you http://cumecclesia.blogspot.com/2007/08/case-of-mistaken-identity.html. Alan347 (talk) 17:38, 28 February 2013 (UTC)
- Catholic adoption of theologica crucis is a recent development. If you want, you could add a section about Catholic appropriation of the topic that would be up to you. ReformedArsenal (talk) 20:03, 28 February 2013 (UTC)
- I'm a fifth year B.A. Theology student (Catholic Tradition) and so far all we've been hearing in the lectures is that Paul's letters and the gospel focuses on theologia crucis Alan347 (talk) 09:42, 1 March 2013 (UTC)
