Extent of Taq's influence
editThe article states the Taq is being used from everything from AIDS to an article about HIV. These topics are extrmely related and don't really give a sense of scale for Taq's usefulness. Not many chemical's have had more of an impact on modern life than Taq Pol, I think it should be given credit. Perhaps say from modern farming to that article about HIV? i dunno, any ideas? -Adenosine- 08:06, Mar 8, 2005 (UTC)
Correction to Genus Name
editUnless there has been a very recent update, the correct Genus name for this organism is "Thermus", not "Thermophilus". This can be found in the original Brock and Freeze 1969 reference (Thermus aquaticus gen. n. and sp. n., a nonsporulating extreme thermophile)in the Journal of Bacteriology, as well as "Bergey's Manual of Systematic Bacteriology". 15 nanometers
editA 15 nm long bacterium seems very tiny. That can hardly be true. --Miguelferig (talk) 17:14, 3 April 2014 (UTC)
- It isn't true. I corrected it. The webpage cited for the 15 nm wasn't exactly of high quality. Icek (talk) 23:16, 5 May 2014 (UTC)
