Hello,

I think I saw a mistake in this article. In the "reaction" section, a sentence sais that thiazole can be deprotonated by Grignard reagents. Actualy, only Hauser bases like iPr2NMgBr or TMPMgBr can deprotonate thiazole. A Grignard reagent like BuMgCl will only gives the addition product.

A brief literature search seems to confirm your comments, so I have removed that reaction from the article. If a reference supporting the use of a Grignard reagent can be found, then it can be added back in. -- Ed (Edgar181) 01:10, 26 June 2012 (UTC)Reply
