Hi, What is the rationale behind assigning N05.8 as the ICD-10 code for this condition? In the UK 5th edition, indexing the alternative names for this condition gives the following options:

Benign familial hematuria
Haematuria
-benign (familial) N02.-

Thin basement membrane nephropathy
Nephropathy N28.9
-membranous (diffuse) N02.2

Is this because haematuria (blood loss) places this as a nephritic syndrome, and the N05.8 is the only place to put an other/specified nephritic syndrome?
